Dunfermline will field a development team for a friendly against Hill of Beath Hawthorn on Monday night. Neil Lennon has said that this match will give new signings Zeke Cameron and Danny Dobbie some game time. He added:-
“It has been difficult for them because they’ve come in but Zeke popped his thigh in Bulgaria, and that was a sore one. He is training away now with us and doing well. Danny’s another player who will definitely feature on Monday because they both need the minutes.”

HoB have a young striker whom scored 37 goals last season. If he has a good game tomorrow, he might catch the eye of our coaches
Will he save it? Save it??? He never bloody saw it! Like a bullet!

Yep, they both were. I seem to remember Galloway looked a tidy wee player. But, a very wee player. I think Brandon Luke came quite close to the first team

John McLaughlan`s thoughts on the game are now on COWS. We had a 14 year-old and two 15 year-olds playing apparently!

After the defeat to Hill of Beath Hawthorn on Monday evening coach John McLaughlan gave his thoughts on what was a very very competitive game for the first game for the development squad. He told the website:-
“It was an excellent first half, the attitude and application was really evident and I was delighted with the start to the game and with a wee bit better quality in the final third we could have gone in at the break ahead.
“We had big performances, when you get 14-year-olds playing – JJ [James Hardie] he’s only 14 and two 15-year-olds who have just come through together. The boy up front with Lucas [Fyfe] I hadn’t seen before – big Louis Flett, so I brought him in. It was really pleasing in the first half but went to sleep a wee bit at the start of the second and got caught down the outside.”
Moving on to the late second Haws goal John added:-
“Thomas [Margetts], his handling was really good throughout, he just had a moment of madness and he knows that he wouldn’t do that in training. He’s made the wrong decision by throwing it out and the centre half [Connor Carr] just got caught and it ends up 2-0.
“The game was never a 2-0. It was very even and even at 1-0, young Callum [Shearer]’s got a chance to score a great pass for young Caleb [Hepburn]. In the first half, Zeke [Cameron] had a chance and so did Lucas Fyfe and they’ve got to score when they’re on top.
“But really pleasing. A great exercise for all the young boys to get knocked about with men and more importantly, the physicality and you see the fitness levels of their boys were really good, a lot of them haven’t ever been exposed to that. So that was a real bonus for us.
It was the first time we’ve seen Zeke Cameron and Danny Dobbie playing, they have clearly been signed as great prospects for the future. John continued:-
“Zeke gave us everything. He’s not played 90 minutes and neither has Danny. So they have just got to move the ball quicker in the final third at times. Zeke got caught a couple of times but he shows real quality and real talent on the ball. He just has to learn the game now. Zeke can be a real asset for us in terms of he’s one of these wingers that the fans will love, he can beat his man but it just needs the end product and I’m sure that’ll come.
“It was a really young side. As I said, I only got to know the 17s on Friday [against a USA team] and I had to pick a bench and obviously two starters out of that. We’re really young tonight. If that’s the future, then we’ve just got to build on it and make sure that they keep learning the game.”
John explained how without an U19 team this season just how he sees this Development team will operate:-
“I think the plan is that we’re going to try and play and expose the players to top quality opposition. Today was against men, we’re going to take a game next Monday. We play Celtic under-19s at Barrowfield [closed doors]. Then the plan is, once the club decides the players going out on-loan, then they’ll get game time with their clubs. I think the rest of the players and what’s available, we’ll try and take games in England and try and play against the top teams in Scotland.”
Asked if he had enough players for that, John closed:-
“Well, that’s the next thing, if the gaffer can bring in some. He’s talked about bringing in some more players to add to the squad before the transfer window closes. Then that should release up some players that’ll need to get game time and fitness. So it’ll be interesting to see how it all evolves but the idea behind it is to try and expose these players to men’s football as quickly as we possibly can.”

I`m surprised he didn’t mention the officials not letting them replace an injured player with one of the lads they’d already subbed off earlier. Davy Honeyman gave the linesman a fair bit, saying “It’s not the World Cup final”. Pretty poor decision to refuse the sub. In the end Lennon just told them to take him off and finish the game with 10 men.

I think Johnny Galloway made it as far as an unused substitute for the Pars first team. possibly at Dumbarton?
He went to Burntisland and played in their centenary game against the Pars when he was substituted by his (twin?) brother Jordan, who I think is still with the Shippy.
Johnny then went to Crossgates before fetching up at the Haws.
I don’t think Spook ever made it as far as the first team but played for a bit at Stenhousemuir.

Johnny was very similar in style to Shaun Byrne when he was coming through. remember seeing a lot of youth/reserve fixtures around that time and his stature and style to Byrne and seemed to be the "style" of player we wanted to build teams around

The ref has no choice here, it was an official game, therefore once subbed you can`t go back on.

Something similar happened in the Chelsea v AC Milan friendly on Sunday. With Chelsea leading 2-0 a young Milan defender committed a `last man` foul denying a goalscoring opportunity. The commentator was debating whether the ref would show some leniency as it was a friendly until it was pointed out he would be assessed on his performance and had no option but to show the defender a red card.
