Great to see Evan join James on the Board of Directors now, additionally Faisal Bin Jamil their CEO of their Short Circut business will also join the board. Seems a really strong board and shows great ongoing commitment from them all.

This is mentioned in the latest Club Update which is now on COWS. It also explains the club`s view on loan co-operation agreements and loans generally and why we`re not fielding an under-19 Academy team this season.

Who is Evan? Evan is a multi Millionaire business partner of James Bord...Our co/owner?

We should be excited because it is them that are taking the club in a new direction that seems to be exciting a lot of fans at the moment.

What difference does it make if its not local lads? Our local directors sadly just did not appear to have the deep pockets to drive the club to the level expected by the fans ....

Maybe it means we`re going in a positive direction after decades of either well-meaning mediocrity or financial mismanagement?

Tbf Oz. That’s a strange comment.

I think fans would have been right to question why our owners were NOT on the board rather than why they are on the board ?

What an opportunity we missed in 2014.

"Oh, aye, all good local lads."

Like Masterton and Yorkston? Or is it only certain local ladies you want involved?

"Well kent and all that."

Sofer was in Legends on Saturday and has been interacting with fans on Twitter. I know about him as much as I know about some of the other "local lads" who have been at our club. Some folk like the limelight, some don`t.

"Sorry, RMG, but who the hell is Evan?"

Sorry, but if yoi don`t know who Even is then have you even been paying attention? It`s been widely reported who he is, how he is involved and that he`d eventually join the board.

"And why should we be excited by the addition of Faisal Bin Jamil to the board?"

Because adding a third member from the group solidifies their involvement and shows some commitment to the project?

"Just asking, for it all fails to mean an awful lot to me."

Folk who say "just asking" are usually trying to cause bother in my experience. So the question here is why? What`s the angle and why so negative?

Evan Sofer was also at the Morton game so presumably he`s been over here for at least a week getting involved in club business.

Correct he has been over for a few weeks, by all accounts both Evan and James don`t like the limelight and prefer to do things in the background.

Given that Oz Par is on the other side of the world its a bit unfair to expect him to be 100% up to date and accurate on all things Pars. Yes this forum/internet is good but if you dont live locally/Fife /Scotland you do miss out on the odd snippet.

That said I am looking forward to a trip north at the end of the month to catch the Ross County game.

Really disrespectful post. The local lads have kept the club alive when a lot of others didn’t or couldn’t. Presume you put your Ā£100k or so in? If not you should be thankful.

They have all to a man said that the time was right to move the club on and by selling stakes to GMbh and now James Bord allows the club to hopefully move to a different level with more funding behind them. You can be excited for a new era without being wholly dismissive of previous.

Other than GM & JY (and PST reps who are their on structure) any director who put money in and time to the club, should be applauded.

Let’s look forward to an exciting season and if the new owners decide they need some local influence and support again let’s back it.

To be fair to oz and others out the country, yes you can get all the same info as everyone else who lives here.
I lived in Dortmund for example and didn’t miss a beat online but word of mouth is also a big thing if you live local.
You hear things you would never get online.

Nah, most of the rumours you hear around town are nonsense (Stuart Armstrong anyone?) and folk used to always rightly say that our club had a lot of leaks when it came to new signings, etc. Now we are more professional, those same folk are complaining. Probably upset that their pal in the boardroom isn`t able to guarantee them hospitality for the big games and freebies for away matches.

This year we’ve had the full sets of strips leaked for the 1st ever time. I’d say that’s a fundamental huge problem, far worse than may rumour new signing.

Think you’ll find as well most of the reigned directors/board and PU board have open invitations to the boardroom so I can’t see that being a problem for anyone.

As I’ve said previously I’ll welcome the new regime and hope that with the investment in the club and football side we get back to the premier league

I`m going to cut Oz a bit of slack here, although I`m sure he can stick up for himself. Oz is of a similar age to me, we grew up supporting the Pars in the halcyon days of the 60s, when we won two Scottish Cups and came agonisingly close to winning the Double in 64/65. We were also regular participants in Europe and were narrowly eliminated by the eventual trophy winners on 4 occasions.

During that time, the club had a team consisting mostly of local players and a BoD made up of local businessmen. The Chairman for much of that decade was Leonard Jack. He kept the club on an even keel by selling a top player every year, while the manager was tasked with finding a suitable replacement from the lower leagues or the juniors. Sadly, as the decade ended, so did the players who could fetch big transfer fees.

Perhaps that was what Oz was yearning for, but he`s been in Australia for a long time now and maybe doesn`t realise how much the game has changed now. It`s big business now, and significant sums are needed to run even a 2nd tier Scottish club - the kind of money local businessmen either don`t have or are not prepared to invest in such a precarious enterprise.

I`ve no doubt a lot of those "hingers oan" did a lot for the club, including investing a lot of their hard earned cash, but I`m relieved to see a clear out. It`s time for new ideas and new processes.

My one concern is we saw this sort of investment under Masterton and saw how badly it went in the end. The difference here is the board seems to be chucking their own cash in rather than taking out loans against the club.

Not sure why everyone is piling on OzPar here. That`s the problem with the internet, everyone is a bit too quick to jump down folks throats.
The new board member seems pretty high calibre. Venture Capitalist .He`s on the board at Cordoba and has been on the board at Paris FC between 2021 and 2024 during which time the club has really grown Exciting times ahead I think (although we should keep our eyes open)

Good posts from GG and Rigger. I don’t happen to agree with Oz on this one but I too will give him some slack. Oz is a long standing Pars fan. In my experience and communications with him over the years he clearly wants the best for the club he has supported all his life. His dedication to tune in to watch matches on ParsTV around 2am is impressive (especially with some of the poor football and tactics and team selections of recent seasons).

Personally I am happy for the club that we now have owners who have deeper pockets and have done so much in such a short time. As another poster wrote, it appears they don’t seek the limelight. However despite this we are now getting much more regular communication from the CEO which is good. If the owners appoint someone else they know of quality who has skills and abilities that can add value to the board that is fine with me. I have no knowledge, but might the new director have also invested in the club?

The post that annoyed me was the one attacking some of those who had put their own money into Pars United. All the Pars United Patrons will only get back a few pennies in the pound (which they never expected to get back when they stepped up to the plate in our time of need); and I am sure they all will be happy to have done their bit to help in the past and also be delighted with how things are progressing under our new owners. As an very minor ex-Patron I am very happy. Our new owners are getting on with things quietly, and giving us a good pitch, a much improved squad, and better management and tactics (and more entertaining football). Actions matter more than words.

I think Oz would have got a lot more "slack" had his post not been so sarcastic and completely wrong. A wee visit to our own website to check facts would`ve prevented most of his nonsense.

He`s made an @rse of it, let`s let him accept that and move on!
