As much as people harp on about the impact on the coefficient, I look at it from the point of view that the amount of times they have done this to us mere mortals in Scotland that it gives us all a little comfort seeing it finally happen to them, keep them coming!

It`s better for the coefficient for them to be in the Europa League than get mauled in every game in the Champions League group stages - like last time.

They look absolute murder.
The defending for the first 2 goals was criminal. I’ll never understand what Djiga was doing at the first goal.
The warning signs were all there on Saturday when they conceded 2 poor goals against Alloa.
Martin won’t see the end of the season in that job.

Tom English was unequivocal in his damning of the Rangers defence BEFORE the game. Proven correct and Billy Dodds made an important point that Rangers have left man marking and gone back to zonal marking. Him and Barry must be spitting the dummy at that performance.

They`ve been extremely lucky not to concede more goals in the past qualifying games. They`re now facing a team that will capitalise on those mistakes. Martin seemed like a doomed appointment from the start

I find it impossible to have any affection for a club that embraced a sectarian philosophy for well over 100 years and is supported by a significant number of supporters who are united in their loathing of Irish Catholics.
There`s a lot of schadenfreude among Sellick fans today, ahead of their match. They should be warned that football has a habit of kicking you in the face when you least expect it.

Yeah, there`s the little sectarian thing too...
I`ve got mates who are Rangers fans around they`re nice guys, but then they`re not the type who support England, have union flag numberplates and spray paint walls/signs. Every club has a minority of fuds but that lot seem to have a much larger proportion!

As said on a previous thread - this is all their own fault. Them and Celtic have spent decades now stifling competition. The infamous "penalty Rangers" says it all. Even with VAR they still get away with murder.
The Scottish Premier will not improve with 4 games a season and the usual two fighting for the title while the rest scramble to catch the scraps. It`s been a joke for ages but everyone is self preserving so votes for the status quo. 10-20 years ago you`d argue Celtic and Rangers could hold their own in the English Premier. Nowadays they`d struggle in the English championship. They made it this way though so I`ll continue to chuckle at tonight`s result for a while yet. The only sad thing is the violence that will no doubt be a result of the scoreline tonight.

Unfortunately the results for Rangers and Celtic in Europe mean nothing. Due to the way our league finance is distributed they will scoop up most here and then get another hand out from UEFA. So rinse and repeat!
I just feel embarrassed, that as one poster noted 10-1 (Pars v Apoel), among regular European wins. We ( Scotland) were a real force in Europe.
Wouldn’t happen today !Scottish football on the big stage is cringeworthy.

No chance, sadly. Both Celtic and Rangers will drop points over the course of the season, but not as many as the other 10, so they`ll finish 1st and 2nd, respectively.
Some pundits on the BBC were tipping Rangers to beat Celtic at the weekend, ahead of last night`s game. Not on that evidence. Celtic are poor, but Rangers are awful. They`ll do well to pick up another domestic draw if Martin is still the manager then.
Not your average Sunday League player.

As a fan of Scottish football I am gutted…..that I don’t have a TV package to watch that schooling of that mob. Not even during John Greig’s tenure where they were dreadful in the league, they still managed to get on into the European competitions.

Thing is, dropping into Europa League could see a further run in it for them - longer run, more money, co-efficient improved too.
Both clubs need serious investment though.

This. 100% this.
Listening to Billy Dodds on the BBC this morning, he mentioned that Barry Ferguson’s proposal to the board for this season was exactly the same thing, to have a strong core of Scottish players.
What makes it even more infuriating is how many young players they hoover up at grassroots level, knowing full well that less than 1% of them will never get a real chance.
