 Fleetwood Town v Accrington
Topic Originator: buffy

No I’ve not switched to English football updates but just noticed Lewis McCann has started in the first 11 with his new club in this match.

I wish Lewis all the best.

Fleetwood missed a pen at 1-0. Back to 2-1 now. Going on Sky Sports comments McCanns had a couple of efforts put wide.

You guys need to forget all about
Lewis McCann. He was not a good
player for us Kane and Rudden are
far better.

What`s wrong with following the career of an ex-player after he leaves the club?

Wee Eck, it wouldn`t be so bad
if McCann had been one of great
players.You need to move on
we have some decent players
now.

I thought he was poor for us but am interested in how he gets on and given it’s his debut it’s fine as I’m sure it won’t happen every time he he plays.

Although not looking forward to wee eck and others telling me they told me he’d make it everytime he scores (so 3 times a season)!

They have a couple of experienced strikers at fleetwood in Norwood and Evan’s who have done it all before at that and higher levels so he’ll do well to start many games.

The post below replying to me is by one of .nets finest champions of mediocrity!

I don`t understand what you mean by `move on`, jock. He has moved on. I like to see how players get on when they leave the club, especially if they move to a different country or league. It seems a perfectly natural thing to do.

If you don`t mind, we will decide who we take an interest in, and discuss. Is that ok?

Looking at their line ups they play with 2 up top. That should suit Lewis more than the lone striker/left wing role he was playing here. May not score many but may contribute plenty to them.

It’s the group stages of something called the EFL Trophy (sorry, I don’t normally follow English football). Into penalties. (Crowd is 550!)

Nobody is falling over McCann. A few people have a soft spot for him and want to see him do well. It`s just a being nice thing. No surprise it`s going over your head.

I find it weird anybody who is a Pars fan that would want him to fail just to say ‘I told you so’ kind of thing.
He burst a gut every time he put on a shirt and if it’s the case he just wasn’t good enough then that’s down to management not McCann.

Big Lewis McCann admirer here. However, over the last 2 years, happy to concede he was not up to the task from where the Pars needed to be, or more importantly where we are heading. Happy to keep an eye on his current efforts meantime out of interest’s sake and for it to be publicised on here… even better! Means I don’t need to have an online gander ( call me an old fuddy duddy 41 year old). Anyhoo, fook the haters, scroll past the topic header cause yer no daft enough to ken what it entails…

Same old gang backing each other up against the world.

If you want to follow a plays career fine, perhaps maybe join the Fleetwood forum and discuss.

Are we gonna have a post for every ex-player now with a weekly update?

Meanwhile, not only have you gone out your way to open the thread, you’ve proceeded to read over 20 comments then actually comment on it yourself……and you’re calling others out? 🤔

I think that’s a cracking idea!

Kintos and Kozma, just for you, I’ll post weekly McCann threads on the matches he’s involved in and also what colour strip Fleetwood are wearing that day. Might even get a wee day trip oot on the go and snap some photos of him in action.

What`s the harm in a thread about how an ex-player is getting on? Haven`t we had the same for a number of former players? The simple solution is to ignore the thread if it bothers you.

No. That is most unlikely.
A player that was with us from such a young age will remain in our thoughts and discussions for a wee while. Especially during his first engagement with another team.
If you are not interested why are you getting involved?
Do your thing and let others do theirs. Billy fkn big bawz.

Used to check if Josh Edwards was in the starting line up for Charlton regularly and will probably do the same with McCann at Fleetwood. Think it is fairly normal to see how an ex player is doing after a move down south. I never thought that Lewis was ever going to improve significantly but I would love to see him prove me and others wrong. Good luck to him.

What an opportunity we missed in 2014.
