Very good appointment for County.
I think he’ll improve them dramatically.

Agree. It’s a good appointment and he has a strong looking squad, on paper, to work with.
It`s bloody tough being a legend

Good appointment. He would have been my “sensible shoes” pick if I was uncle Roy.

Seems to struggle at shoring up the defence, but could get Hale and the Ross County attack firing on all cylinders. Can see them being a different beast in time.

Must admit that I thought he got a raw deal at Dundee and think he is a good appointment for Ross Co…..let’s hope for our sakes it’s not too good.

His problem is he has inherited a squad he had no part in assembling and will have no opportunity to change until the January transfer window - and we all know how difficult that can be.

It can be difficult, however he’ll be rubbing his hands in glee as he has inherited a good squad, one that was favourites for the league only a few weeks ago. All he has to do is get them firing really, it’s not like what usually happens when managers take over squads that are low in confidence and in a bit of a mess, he has the players there already (by and large).

The best business Ross county did was keeping hold of hale.

I get what you’re saying but I do think that squad is more than good enough and he’s a good manager, I’d be surprised if they weren’t top 3 in December

Unfortunately, this would seem a really good appointment.

Just saw this, I didn’t see that one coming. Doherty, Davidson & Robertson…you don’t get a much more experience management team than that at this level.

Could be wrong, but think he got released by them in the summer.

They did. You would think he’d be a decent signing for them.

Well they are not a good team. Hale seemed to bail them out at EEP last game but they looked very ordinary.
Most definitely not title challengers.

It`s a real worry. ICT are just out of administration and will hopefully start to rise up again. Ross County are funded by a sugar-daddy is my understanding. Surely a risk that he walks away and they collapse, or he runs out of cash.
Highland clubs always seem to struggle due to location but there`s not much anyone can do about that.

We could nuke Dundee and Aberdeen, then use lots of big machines to push north further down to a more central location.
