Now that the international windows closed, and league football returns, are we finished with our summer spree?
I know we can now only sign domestic loans and free agents, but its gone very quiet and the squad still needs added to.

I really don’t think the squad needs added to.
We have cover for every position.
NL stated today he’s happy to get on with it now the window is shut.

In my opinion, we`ve done great business, I`m really excited!and time to get on with it.
It won`t be long until struggling managers start talking about the next transfer window, as if that will solve much, and for fans of every single club saying "we need a striker"

One thing is clear, this season the Pars will be playing a whole lot more in the final third. Only half-jokingly, I hope the manager turns Otoo into a striker.

I think the nature of the modern game is such that the way teams set up, you can`t rely on strikers to get your goals. It`s a single point of failure. You need other players to chip in. You could see that from the England performance against Serbia

We still need another striker - Kane is an injury worry every time he plays and Rudden hasnt exactly set the heather on fire wherever hes been! We have a midfield that can create chances judt need thst tried and tested striker to finish them and bring on the youngsters - another Craig Brewster.
Similarly i think we could do with a midfielder that the young guys can look up to, someone nearing the end of their career thats been capped internationally - someone who, when we’re struggling can bring the team together and encourage the young guys to lift their head up, install the belief that its not all over.

So we`re back to the "we need another striker" already, with every other club in Britain.
Great, who then please?
If it`s "another Craig Brewster" why not just go "another Messi"?

Some fans don`t live in the real world unfortunately. Anyway, Rory Macleod hasn`t had much of a chance so far to show what he can contribute to the attack.

Still got the court case hanging over 2 of our defenders but no idea when that is.
Apart from that I thinking we’re done until January. Unless we manage to get 3-4 out on loans.

I know it was against League 1 & 2 opposition, but I was really encouraged by what I saw from MacLeod when he came on. It’ll be interesting to see where he fits in with the plans, assuming he keeps hitting those levels, because he looked dangerous on the ball.

Have you guys conveniently forgot last season when we were awful in front of goals? So who have we added? Rudden who at the age of 25 is now at his 10th club - we are his 6th club since 2022 - none of which he had a decent record with.
Rory McLeod - a 19 yr old prospect for the future for sure but hasn’t scored a top flight goal as yet!
So where is this striker that’s gonna get us the 15-20+ goals this season and don’t say Kane as we need someone that’s going to be able to play at least 90% of the games!
So when you start shouting and being smart that someone is saying we still need a striker - look at our team, the ages, the previous stats and think with your brain not your heart and realise what most of us know…. We still need that striker!

Yes, really liked the look of him, my reading was that it was a virus that put him in and out of hospital, so I`m guessing will take a bit time to fully recover, he`s been training for a while though.
Either way we have plenty to ping in the box/have a crack at a goal.
What is notable is our shots and shots on target have been higher in individual games than entire months last season!

I am happy with where we are, not cost a fortune, got good names. Lots of youngsters, we need time to work together my slight worry is bene and gk
However its a very tight league, and you are in top 4 or trying to avoid bottom two

Time will tell if we need a striker. It’s not like we’ve got a lot of data to go by with this current squad but from what I’ve seen I think as long as Rudden stays fit and Kane is fit enough for enough of the league, we’ll score goals this season. I’m more concerned that the young boys at the back throw a wobbly, Bene struggles or gets the jail and we end up short at the back 🤷🏻♂️

Are you conveniently forgetting we are a mid 2nd tier Scottish football club of little modern standing where there are zero guaranteed 15-20 goal strikers screaming out ‘that’s the place I want to be’?

Falkirk won the league last season and their highest scorer had ten league goals.

The leading scorers were -
1 Brian Graham Partick Thistle 15
2= George Oakley Ayr United 13
2= Robbie Muirhead Livingston 13
2= Dylan Easton Raith Rovers 13
5= Chris Kane Dunfermline Athletic 11
5= Oli Shaw Hamilton Academical 11
7 Calvin Miller Falkirk 10
...but the myth that you need a 15-20 goalscorer lives on! Graham, Muirhead, Easton and Kane scored a few penalties too (not sure about Shaw?).

I wouldnt have minded another striker, but will admit forgot that MaCleod was due back. He has looked good so far.
The worry is that Kane cant complete 90 minutes every week - that either needs to be addressed or someone else brought in.

Lots of outfield players, especially midfield and forward players, don`t complete 90 minutes in the modern game. It`s almost become tactical with the availability of so many subs.

Think we may bring in another loanee but it will be dependent on us loaning out a couple more at least.
What an opportunity we missed in 2014.

Hi everyone, been ages since I was on here last.
If I was honest the last couple of seasons and my work had dimmed my ability and expectations for the pars. I was also dubious about the new ownership as I wasn’t too happy about the last ones.
Anyway back to what this thread is about and I feel a good buzz about the players we have brought in and secured. Signings like the Tod brothers and Oakley- Boothe and a few we already know about Zac Rudden, Charlie Gilmour and a fair few new exciting players Caceres, Kearney, Fraser, Amade and Ghanaian international Abdulai. It gives me a lot of hope that the owners know their stuff going by stats.
Hopefully these guys gel into a great team once again bringing joy to our long suffering fans faces. Watching the Pars vs raith game on Beeb was in my mind a fair few late signings and needed time to develop into a team. Today’s result is hopefully the fist sign of that happening.
Regardless Thanks to everyone at the club for changing the whole vibe around the place
