This was strangely poorly advertised IMO. The Cowdenbeath thread on Pie and Bovril had stuff about it but I never really saw much on our thread, or on here, EEB or on any social media channels. A shame for some of the guys who travelled a long way, especially Ivo den Bieman.

Only heard about this today! Surprised it wasn’t better advertised.
Who lined up for the Pars?

Joe Cardle academy posted this morning that he played.
I saw he came first in the Dunfermline parkrun recently, obviously keeps himself in good shape!
You would assume the Press will have some kind of report.

The club posted information about this several times on social media in the build-up to the match.

A friend of mine played in the game for Cowdenbeath and said that Cardle ran riot and definitely still has it.
I thought the timing of the game wasn’t great, and although I did see it advertised on a Facebook group, I wouldn’t say it was well advertised……it certainly wasn’t for the list of players that were there.
Better advertising and a better time slot, probably would have brought a better attendance

2pm on a Sunday in September seems a reasonably good time slot to me - and you were able to buy a programme!

Fair enough, and if it worked for you then brilliant. However, after spending a good bit of money going up to Arbroath the weekend before, and repaying it again only 2 days prior in Perth, before 2 games in the same week on a Tuesday and Saturday….it wasn’t a good time slot for me.
Each to their own though, it wasn’t meant as a dig at the organisers, I’m just pointing out the reason why I decided not to go, despite seeing it being advertised.

Presumably a major factor in setting a date for a match like this is the availability of the players.
There are some photos on X of the Pars` participants - a few I recognised and some I couldn`t quite place! Among those I did were the Young brothers, Stevie Craw, Scott Thomson, Ivo, Graeme Robertson (?), John Watson, Jason Dair, David Bingham, Andy Tod (?).
Anyone recognise the others?
PS - Just recognised Davie Irons and, of course, Super Joe!

As I said, my mate played in the game and sent me a photo of the team sheet. For us:
1- Bryn Halliwell
2- Scott Walker
3- Grant Teirney
4- Craig Robertson
5- Ritchie Byrne
6- Derek Young
7- Davie Irons
8- Darren Young
9- Joe Cardle
10- Stevie Crawford
11- Colin Nish
Subs
Andy Tod
Alan Lawrence
Ivo Den Bieman
Jason Dair
Lee Sibanda
Davie Westwood
John Watson
John Potter
Stevie Morrison
Looking at the photo on Facebook, Marvin Andrews & Greame Robertson also played, but was not on the lineups.

Cheers, B_B. I may have confused Bingo and Super Joe but I`m pretty sure Scott Thomson`s on the front row of the photo! Maybe there were a few `ringers` playing to fool the opposition!

The organiser said that the game suddenly grew over the week, with KDM sponsorship boosting the match and putting up a trophy for an annual event.
Between players and VIP`S he wondered if Wee Jimmy`s would cope, he was certainly struggling with the amount of programmes that were required to meet demand.

Definitely not correct. Craig Robertson didn’t play.

Ah, they must have got the Robertson’s wrong. I don’t know how to post an image but it definitely said Craig
