Connor Young has been loaned out to East Kilbride (until January on COWS) or End of the season (East Kilbrides twitter account).
Obviously well out of Lennys plans recently.
Had hoped we’d loan him to a league one side rather than send him back to league two.

I would hope that means someone incoming?
If not that`s madness.

I think bringing Barney in pushed CY down the pecking order. Also possible we might announce a last gasp loan signing too tho.

The loan doesn’t surprise me but the level he has been loaned too does. He’s already shown he’s lethal in League 2 and will be a fantastic addition to EK.

Maybe nobody in League One would cover any of his wages and EK will? I`d rather we kept him as an option, especially given Kane and Rudden`s availability or lack thereof. Think with Fraser, Kearney, Cáceres, MacLeod etc creating more chances, Young would get a few goals now. Don`t really see him as a worse option than Barney Stewart at the moment.

He must be miles off it then, if that`s the case needs games badly -im like the other posters, league 2 doesn`t make a lot of sense, especially a team that will probably win the league -its doesn`t tell us much even if he scores a barrel.

But it gets him plenty minutes hopefully. Gets his fitness up and hopefully confidence too.
My concern is this leaves us light up front again. Ruddens out for a couple of months so we only really have Barney given Kane seems to be more an impact sub than a starter. Obviously Andrew Tod`s been scoring well but he`s not an out and out striker.

has looked a fair bit away from championship level and add in whatever happened during the cup game, dont be surprised if this turns in to a permanent move in January.
with all the number 10 options Lennon might tweak the system although you can still sign free agents if they are still looking for right now.

To be honest I’d rather we gave him another 2-3 games to see if he can show anything given we’re short just now. This feels like a personality clash with Lennon than anything else.
To be fair Barney looks like a better option to compete physically given he’s a bit bigger and given our current crop of 10’s don’t have any physicality or win anything in the air he’s prob going to be in ahead of young.
Currently we’re only scoring in half our games and are now relying on a couple of players who are not currently match fit to lead the line, it’s a bit worrying. Meanwhile we have a squad heavy on midfielders who we can’t seem to move on.

It`s only until January. NL probably does not see an option for him up to Christmas so best he go out and get game time. Maybe when he comes back for the second half of the season he will have something more to offer

it might do him good to be playing a couple of leagues down, at least he will get game time and he might start scoring and get his confidence back

What happened in the cup game? Sorry, I totally missed this at the time! Was there a fall out?
I don’t even know what cup game we’re referring to!

That’s a good move for him. I think after that-a season in League 1 as well. He’s a talented player but I feel like he needs to learn how to occupy a defender more than he does

What an opportunity we missed in 2014.

Would have thought it would be the other way round. Keep him at the moment as we have a need for numbers up front. Loan in January when we have more options. 🤷♂️

i meant to say during the league cup group games, when he was dropped out of the squad completely for the Dumbarton game and Lennon saying he needed extra work or something.

I would anticipate NL has weighed up his options in that department and felt it best he goes out on loan. It may be a confidence thing that he needs regular competitive football. I wish him well in his loan spell and hopefully it will be part of his development programme for us and he will come back all the better for it

If I remember correctly, Norrie went on loan to Ayr United for 6 games to get in shape after a period of injury.
Would be interesting if social media was around then!!!

Maybe, just maybe, the management team don’t think he is good enough for this level yet. It says a lot when he has returned to League Two and not a step up on League One.

I don`t think that necessarily is proof of anything. EK are top scorers in league 2, think he can do a job for them and we need him finding the net again.
Alloa are sitting in 4th in league 1 and have scored 7 goals. For all we know, they might have enquired about him but were turned down because they don`t create many chances.

I don’t think anyone here can give you a specific example but it has been spoke about and at least alluded to by NL.
NL isn’t perfect but he seems to have an eye for a player and understands what qualities a player needs to show.

Yeah that happened.
Norrie had a leg break and wasn’t ready to step back into the Pars team so went to Ayr to get back in shape.
Think we were Premier League at the time.

I remember being gutted at the time, being a nipper, as it felt like Norrie was being forced out. After promotions from the bottom tier to the top tier in rapid succession there was always talk that the likes of Norrie and John Watson wouldn`t be able to make the step up and would have to be moved on, fortunately Norrie was able to come back and fight for his place. Hopefully Connor can do the same
