Interesting statement from Cook on disabled Pars fans getting kept in at our home end , is because of our young mob wanting to play fight with away fans.

Well if he’s saying it’s just disabled fans he’s talking absolute p!sh as the gate to the car park in closed to everyone no just disabled fans the issue of the gate being closed could easily be solved by locking the away fans in or simply by having the folk parking in the car park from the garage end and having a gate put up that can be shut say 10 mins after kick off then the cars exit on to leys park road and it should be home fans only in that car park anyway absolutely no reason what so ever why we should be letting away fans in there it’s even worse when they try and get their busses in

Dunfermline Press:

Dunfermline`s long-term ambition is to return to Scottish football`s top flight and be challenging for European football in a sustainable way.

That was the message to more than 400 supporters who attended a fan forum event at the Alhambra Theatre on Tuesday evening, covering a wide range of topics from player recruitment to the club`s view on league reconstruction.

Manager Neil Lennon, chief executive David Cook, and chairman Jim Leishman, attended the event, and took to the stage to offer their views on questions posed by supporters.

Both Cook and Lennon stated that Athletic are aiming for a return to the Premiership, where they last played in 2012, as quickly as possible, and aim to establish themselves as a sustainable outfit in that division.

They also expressed hope that the Pars can compete for places in European competition when they get there, highlighting the goal that the club`s owners, James Bord and Evan Sofer, have for the club.

Cook said that the pair, whose company, Park Bench SFC LLC, completed a takeover in January, "understand their financial obligations and their commitment to football club", which they have gone into "with their eyes wide open", as he gave assurances over the club`s financial health.

He also said that they wouldn`t overspend on wages for incoming players, suggesting that, whilst Dunfermline have a "competitive structure" for the Championship, some had "priced themselves out" of a possible move to KDM Group East End Park.

The club`s recruitment strategy was also discussed at the event, where it was said that a "blended approach" between human judgement and data analytics, which Park Bench specialise in, is required, whilst the club are already working in the background with a view to recruitment in the January transfer window.

It was revealed to the audience that the Pars "probably know" areas of the team that could be strengthened, which could be set to include in attack, an area they are likely to focus on either in the winter or next summer.

Lennon, who was said to have travelled overseas to watch forwards in the summer, with the Pars having looked at around "50-60" profiles, said it is likely some players will move on over the course of the next two transfer windows.

Youngsters Freddie Rowe, Sam Young and Alasdair Davidson are set to go out on loan to Lowland League teams, and it is understood that negotiations are ongoing in relation to those moves.

Off the pitch, Cook added that a pilot to serve alcohol in a game against Stirling Albion in July had gone well, and others could follow prior to Christmas, whilst the Pars are also in favour of league reconstruction.

The questioner asked about disabled fans as they are one, DC explained that a section of our own fans and their desire to have a rammy with away fans is the reason...

If the safety officer feels it`s needed it won`t change unless the behaviour changes as they are the person who could be stood in court explaining themselves.

That isn`t what was said in the slightest.

What was said was that due to an element of our fans looking to "get at certain away fans" the match commander and safety officer have made these recommendations to ensure the safety of all personnel attending the game.

David Cook said he is very much aware and sympathises with every fan that is affected by the decision but they have no other option and safety of all match attendees is paramount.

Will he save it? Save it??? He never bloody saw it! Like a bullet!

Didn’t particular like or believe His statement I’m in NW and come out of games only see folk going to car park or walk thru that way.

As far as gangs of hooligans in balaclavas looking to fight no idea who spun him that yarn especially playing teams in the championship - if they wanted to do they wanted to do they could still go round outside main stand anyway

Understand in high profile - eg rovers or Falkirk but not rest of championship who mainly have only an handful fans in the cowden end or east main stand anyway

When I left car park on Saturday was a gang of young Pars fans with face coverings waiting at far end of car park taunting Thistle fans. I also witnessed an altercation between a Pars fan and the driver of a Thistle supporters bus so it does happen.

It does happen- in most games - seen them running around the front to try and even confront the small Ross County crowd all with balaclavas on.

I`m didn`t realise it was so cold outside Eastend but it must be if all these little darlings need to wear balaclavas.

It happened against Ross county. The police surrounded a group of young lads with their faces covered. So I guess it’s factual and not a yarn that has been spun.

Yeah, as someone who sits in the North Stand, I can safely say that it happens most games. I think the club could do more, but at least acknowledging it is a start.

Why are the young lads spoiling for a fight? Support your team and then head off to the pub for a few pints, no?

I’m in the NW and on way home nearly always I see a group of them running past legends shooting for the away end looking to start bother.

All young, balaclavas/masks on, hoods up.

I have a young son and can be quite scary for him seeing that.

There`s quite a comprehensive account of the night`s proceedings by `Grant` on COWS. I don`t think he`s NL`s biggest fan but he was pretty impressed by the whole event and how NL, DC and Leish handled the questions
