Roma missed three pens in a row against Lille last night. Ok it wasn’t three separate pens like ours agains Dundee United, but the same one, twice retaken for encroachment…….all three missed……terrible efforts by so called professional footballers…
What an opportunity we missed in 2014.

Higgy missed 2 penalties in 2 minutes against Ayr in the same season - near the end of the game.
The first one was saved by Greg Fleming, down to his left, IIRC. Higgy collected the rebound and was fouled as he tried to knock it in.
He then tried to blast the 2nd one down the middle, Fleming dived the other way but managed to stick out a hand (or maybe it was his foot) and diverted it over the bar.
I`m sure he trudged off the pitch in tears.

He then scored 2 penalties in a week later on in the season - an equaliser against Hibs and a winner, via a Panenka, against the Rovers.
He also Panenkad a penalty past Fleming in a League Cup game a couple of seasons later.

Iirc he still got man of the match but was a sorry looking figure at the presentation.
