I think we have found one. Brave. Strong. Comes for crosses. And bar a couple in the wind, His distribution is pretty much spot on. Billy Terrell … impressed with the youngster. I imagine his defence feel confident with him supporting them. Some of his passes, kick outs today were sublime.

Absolutely solid game today, one of not our best players on today’s showing and the good news is he’s ours and not a loan.

Keep this up and I’m sure we’ll be looking to extend his deal.

Agree.

Some clean handling at crosses. Looks like a good size too. Don`t like wee keepers. Likes to catch when he can but punch well when he had to.

Against Partick there were a couple of times he was quickly off his line and narrowing the angle really well. Both shots ended up off target so while they aren’t classed as saves it was his efforts that made them miss. Agree that he is a good keeper and rightly playing ahead of Munn.

I don’t think he’s been properly tested yet but from what I’ve seen so far, I’m impressed at his eagerness to keep the play moving and allow a quick break.
I’m guessing his hero is the Liverpool keeper Alisson Becker with his low kicking to the wings at times.
I’m quite happy with him in goals tbh

As Jake says… I think this is for another thread 😂

I’ve got to say though, I get where those fans are coming from. Their form may have got a hearts manager the sack. Instead they’ve spent £20million ish over the summer and are getting worse. I won’t condone violent acts but they’re well within their right to be extremely critical of that team.

Has there been any violence or did they just stand in front of the bus? Genuine question

Doesn’t matter what decade it is if it’s banned, does it?

You’ll be asking the government if it’s okay to cross the road soon if banning everything in the name of safety is what you want to do.

I wear a snood up over my nose and a wooly cap tucked into it in the winter. Ive never bought a flare or smoke bomb or invaded a pitch or been involved in a scrap at the football.

Should I now be banned from keeping warm at the games because of your new law?

It`s a suggestion. It`ll never happen.

It would need reviewed, of course:

Pros:

Troublemakers easily identified
Loss of confidence among wee fannies knowing they can`t hide
Reduction in fanny behaviour

Cons:

Dave gets a cold head
NMC can`t dress his kids like Adrian Mole

Tell that to the old boy in a mobility scooter I was talking to today.

Sorry pal, you’ll need to remove your scarf as it’s covering your face. I don’t care if you need it or not. Jake’s worried about 11/12 year olds making him unsafe.

Billy Terrell looks like the real deal. He could be very successful goalkeeper.

When a high press is proving too troublesome, the best keepers play long passes to midfield or forward line, routinely finding their own player.

Speaking of cold, for ~3 weeks in the depths of a Minnesotan winter, you need to double layer. Wearing a balaclava is a must. And a larger hat over a beanie. Goggles. Etc. And you can just about survive being outside for 30-40 minutes.

Genuinely, he was stuck behind a car because someone had parked on the pavement. I seen him and went across to ask if he was alright. Spent a few minutes talking to him and in that time he told me he had to wear something to stop the wind from taking his breath away because he was hooked up to an oxygen tank that he had to use 24/7. Too much breeze and it’s difficult for him to get the oxygen.

But back on track, I think Billy Terrell looks a good find so far. He’s not out of place at this level and considering his age it looks like he’s got a bright future.

Think Billy looks a good find, real sweeper keeper who`s made some great saves ao far gives me the most confidence of the keepers we have.
Lennon gave him some (unfair imo) stick for the 1st Partick goal a few weeks ago but has stuck with him and despite lennons comment his confidence hasn`t been knocked and he`s pulled off some more great saves since with different CBs every time he`s played.

He`s not Mehmet, so he`ll get a bit of leniency if he does.

He should have done better with the Ayr goal and Partick`s 2nd goal but everyone has been pretty understanding of that.

Don`t get me wrong, that`s a good thing and I think he has the potential to be very good.

He was never saving that Partick goal.
It maybe looked bad if you were in the main stand or Norrie but in the NW it was unsaveable.
I like him from what I’ve seen so far.

We`ll agree to disagree on that.

It`s not some sort of horrific mistake but if Mehmet had let it in - following the goal against Ayr - there would have been people foaming at the mouth.

Is that because Mehmet has made numerous mistakes and cost us numerous goals?

He’s poor under a cross and his kicking wasn’t good enough so when he didn’t save one he should have it raised the question of why is he there?

The 2 seasons in the championship were evidence enough that Mehmet isn’t good enough, I don’t know why we keep bringing him up 🤷🏻‍♂️

I`m bringing him up because I felt he got blamed for a bunch of goals where he wasn`t culpable - and became a scapegoat for the element of our support who go to games with a preconceived idea about what they`re about to see and then only see things that support it.

I hope Terrell does well and Mehmet doesn`t play again - mostly because I can`t be bothered with the fall out when he lets in a goal.

Barney Stewart is the next cab off that particular ramp. He did well on Saturday but more than one person suggested he was miles off it or out of his depth.

I definitely agree that some of the shouts on a Saturday are absolutely wild. I’ll give some of it a pass as I do think sometimes it’s easy to get wrapped up in it as a fan sometimes.

I don’t think Barney Stewart has done much wrong. Our last couple of performances haven’t exactly helped him. Would be good to see him paired with Kane and actually get some service for him to work with.

The difference most people understand the intent, balclava to keep warm or balaclava to hide identity when connitting a crime. Only in a very small number of cases is it a grey area.

I agree with you, AdamAnts - The strike for Partick`s second goal was fantastic - hit hard with a marked swerve then dip. It was a brilliant strike that would have beaten most keepers. He was also a bit unlucky against Ayr, with a save bouncing back off the post onto his back and then falling to an Ayr player who was right there (rather than our defender). If anything, perhaps Robbie Fraser got turned, and the PT player had some space to shoot. As I wrote on the match thread, Billy Terrell was my MOM on Saturday. He looks to get us counter-attacking quickly. Like Tobi, he anticipates problems and is prepared to come out quickly to clear. He also has a long flat kick which is pretty accurate. He is also brave. He can trap a ball and is comfortable with the ball at his feet, and he uses both feet. He also had a great clearance punch in the last game, coming through the middle of a group of players. He has also made a number of good saves or narrowed the angle quickly to keep us in games. I like him.

On the other hand, I think Munn`s mistake letting the ball go over his head for a Raith player to nip in and score was a bad mistake. Perhaps put that down to the inexperience of youth - he won`t do that again. If I were manager, Billy Terrell would be my first choice keeper of the three.

The keeper is a keeper ( pun intended) if we can tie him down to a longer deal. He would be wise to stay till a season or 2 in the SPL and go fly the nest. And still young then.

What about balaclava to hide identity, but for privacy and not to commit a crime?

Can imagine a time in the not too distant Labour future where you might be looking to guide your identity simply because you do not want to have your movements tracked by councils / governments / police / etc employing facial recognition to cctv and cameras/Facebook glasses/etc (soon to be linked to your Brit card), not wanting some AI taking image and video databases to start scanning where you’ve been? when you went there? What you were doing? who you were with? who else happened to be in the area? what other things happened to go on when you were there?

Imagine a time when all of that, along with your Internet usage, online purchases, social media posts, work details, banking details etc are all brought together and monitored - instantly available, flagged and summarised to authorities

Technology is already there and currently trying to be brought together - so could genuinely see myself happily wearing balaclavas or other facial recognition spoilers for privacy

Don’t actually care, I don’t break the law, waste your time and track me if you want, but overall you don’t because you know my lifestyle.
But if I did break the law, I don’t want to be seen, so wear balaclavas. And because of that they rightly so get tracked

Genuine question, DPB - if you aren`t committing a crime, why does it matter that someone knows you walked down a particular street at a particular time? I couldn`t give a shiny ***** that this information could be used by the police or government. If anything, if it helps prove I wasn`t committing a crime I`d be happy with that. My phone, my bank card, my loyalty cards, my season ticket can all be used to say where I am, so the rest is irrelevant IMO. Different scenario to someone who is being stalked/targeted by someone but a) that is highly unlikely to be the authorities and b) determined folk can work that stuff out already. We`ve already got parents of folk in Fife schools refusing to take an iPad because "they (unknown) will use it to listen to me at home". Paranoid delusion isn`t healthy. MI5 couldn`t care one jot whether you watch The Chase or not, or which porn you use (as long as it`s not illegal) or who you have over to the house when the missus is at work.

Anyway, Terrell looks good to me. Ayr was unlucky as stated above, the only criticism is that he let it past him at the near post but then he almost covered it exactly as it hit the woodwork. The second Ayr goal moved like a beachball in a stiff breeze. Swerved one way then `tother. Liked his distribution on Saturday and looked confident.
