That was a good away point for rangers. I would have sacked McGlynn. Embarrassing.

I told my rangers supporting mates he’d be away before Christmas on the day they announced him. Shockingly bad appointment. I have to admit he was even worse than I thought tho, I had a low opinion of him but even I didn’t think he’d start that poorly.

Not a peep from the board about the mob in the car park.
Cowards at board level and cowards in that car park.
They deserve each other.

He’s basically failed upwards his whole career. Speaks really well though. My guess is he done the best speech and ball tickling at the interviews to get the job.
I see they’re all wanting Barry Ferguson as manager… genuinely don’t think that’ll work out great either. I think he’d be a great assistant manager but if I was Glasgow Rangers, I’d be looking for an experienced manager.

If I was Rangers I’d be trying to coax Sam Allardyce out of retirement.
Sean Dyche a good option too.
Gerard return maybe.
Whoever gets it will want money to spend in Jan.

If it wasn’t for Hearts riding high, there would be a strong likelihood Derek McInnis would be in the frame for the job.
I think though they’ll go for someone outside the UK or worse case get the Ferguson team they had towards the end of last season back in.

Southampton that had just been relegated, kept a large part of their squad and added to it as they had excess funds in comparison to everyone else in the league with their parachute payments and still had to go through the playoffs?
Thats the Southampton that after he got the summer with he managed to put together an impressive record of 1 win, 2 draws and 13 losses. -23 goal difference when he was sacked. They got relegated, he got the Rangers job. To me that’s failing up 🤷🏻♂️

I would imagine Gerrard has some form of tax free status in the Middle East which would be a factor in his decision to stay put.

Reckon he wanted a managers role and Rangers are looking for a head coach to suit their model. Danny Rohl favourite now?

Danny Rohl seems to be the favourite now, which would certainly fit the head coach model but would also be a very unpopular appointment. I`m all for it.

Danny Rohl’s strategy would seem to fit Rangers more than Russell Martins.
He seems to prefer a much more simplified approach. Wants to attack with width and looks for high intensity - win ball back and counter attack with pace.
Russell Martin was only interested in possession. Ends up being possession for the sake of possession IMO. Especially when you don’t have De Bruyne and co who can see passes and runs nobody else in the world can.
