Is it right he is to sit out for 21 days due to concussion sustained on Friday night? Steven Mill was talking about it on the big football podcast.

It didn`t look like his substitution was due to concussion.
And if he was concussed, or at least suspected of concussion then 21 days isn`t necessary how long he`ll be out for. For amateurs that`s the minimum time, however there`s a different protocol for pros, it`s much more lead by medical professionals as pros have much more access to them, could be less, could be longer.

No mention of it in the manager`s preview on COWS.

I think Steven Mill might have got that wrong.
Could it be that he got confused by a search result about Andrew Tod which includes Barney`s name in the same search response?
i.e. Google search for `Barney Stewart concussed`:

way i took it is he doesnt say it happened on Friday night. maybe its a bit of inside info from training.
on Lennon`s comments, the Press version of the same interview says they are from after the game on Friday night.

You could be right, GJ - possibly concussed during training on Saturday?* I wonder though if they would do on-the-pitch training, or training that could result in concussion so soon after the RR match?
*(I imagine they have Sunday off?)

Wetherby,
the post match write-up about Barney, which includes comments from him, doesn`t suggest he suffered any injury during the match.

Very strange because two or three times he crouched down holding /rubbing his head - maybe he can`t recall the incident ! But seriously , I thought he was struggling, very odd.

It`s a worry Wetherby because apparently concussion symptoms can be delayed for up to 48 hours, so you might be right that he had taken a knock in the match.
Do we not have a dotnetter who is on speaking terms with Steven Mill and can get the lowdown from him?

Concussion symptoms don’t necessarily happen right away. They sometimes take days to come out.
I know one rugby player who 3 days after a game bent down to tie his shoe lace then couldn’t get up again. Doesn’t know when he took the head knock and nobody could say there was a specific incident.
Someone mentioned they seen Barney holding his head or something? Perhaps he took a sore one but didn’t get concussion symptoms until later in the weekend.

Barney was certainly concerned about a head knock on Friday - you could see him feeling his head and he did go over to the touchline at one point. I wasn`t sure if it was a cut or what, but I did wonder at the time if we would be permitted an extra substitution.
I guess it`s possible that someone is trying to play mind games but I don`t imagine that Airdrie`s preparations will be thrown into turmoil one way or the other.

Think we have that many team permutations that the opposition will struggle to work out tactics.
Only problem will be a plastic pitch!

I had heard Gilmour was a doubt, but Amade missing is a double blow. Big night for Hammy again.
