In investing terms, I can`t think of a time where a Dunfermline squad had so much upside potential since I started following them. If they were a stock, they`re very much a buy right now.
Off the top of my head I think you`ve got...
Bray, Tod x 2, Kearney, Amade and Abdulai who in gut instinct terms look like they could play at a comfortably higher level and are very young.
Then I think you`ve got the likes of Hammy, Todd, Otoo, Fraser, KRH who are in theory yet to reach their peak. (Fraser could move into bracket 1 potentially)
Then you`ve got all the young lads out on loan, some of whom are getting good reviews.
I`m not counting Jeff and JCM in this as I don`t think we`ll be the beneficiaries of them in the long term given the contract status.
Clearly we need to calm down and let these lads develop, added to the general life lottery that means there will be ups and downs. But my point is a general one insomuch as can you name a time when we had so much potential signed to contracts?

Certainly, I have no recollection of such a talented group so young at EEP. Perhaps in the early seventies when we had no money and outstanding youngsters like Alun Evans and Ken Mackie. But largely because of our lowly league status at the time, we never really capitalised on that talent. But right now the players you mention are unquestionably next level. Potential value? Who knows? Could be north of five or six million. Time will tell.

I would add Terrell and Gilmour to that list…
What an opportunity we missed in 2014.

NL is keen on squad rotation, he wants depth in the squad so the team is covered for injuries, suspension. I like the way he sees the team as a full squad & not a first eleven. Everyone is involved & you have to be ready & take your chance when is comes round.
You need quality in the squad to do this & we have a quality squad.
Good times........

You could add McLeod I reckon. Not to mention Young`s in there somewhere.
And dare I say it, Tod x 3?

I don't think we can say now that anyone is `out of favour` when they don`t feature on matchday. With a current squad, excluding those loaned out, of 26 and a matchday squad usually comprising only 20 players it`s inevitable some players are going to miss out even if we have a few injuries. The fact that guys like Keith Bray and Matty Todd have come back from obscurity to make telling contributions recently just demonstrates the overall quality of the group.

What do you mean by Jeff`s contract status? He`s a permanent Dunfermline player for this season and next. JCM I agree I think it`s unlikely we keep hold of him unless we get promoted this season.

Reckon if Caceres gets sold for a decent fee, Sheffield Utd will see the vast majority of it.

Probably a daft thought but when I saw the lineup for the queen`s park game a few weeks ago I wondered if it could be one of our youngest ever lineups for a league game?
Benedictus (33) and Cacares (23) were replaced by Abdulai (21) and Bray (19) so the average would have come down a bit further that day.
Kane, Amade and Gilmour were the elder statement at 31, 26 and 25!
