I wonder why last ditch, dangerous tackles like the one by Micky Van de Ven on Alexander Isak, which broke his leg, passes the scrutiny of VAR. The fact that Isak scored surely doesn`t negate the fact that the tackle was out of control and career threatening. As a former striker myself ( at amateur and junior level ) it seemed to be quite acceptable for an outpaced defender to take a free swipe after a scoring shot had been dispatched but surely now in the "best league in the world" VAR should have brought the referee`s attention to it. Seems like a case where retrospective punishment should apply to Van de Ven.
