More abuse directed at a chairman and his family unfortunately -
Greenock Morton chairman John Laird has stood down from the club due to online abuse and threats towards him and his family.
Mr Laird, who has been associated with the club for more than four decades, said that criticism which was originally about football matters had descended into personal attacks.
He added that he was "deeply disappointed" to be leaving the club in such a way and was leaving with immediate effect.
The news comes two weeks after Celtic chairman Peter Lawwell announced he was standing down due to the amount of abuse and threats he had received.
