Great saves live long in the memory, I genuinely think this might be the best ever.
He`s on as a sub goalie.
He`s like 57 years old.
Pretty much the last kick of the ball.
Missed it at the weekend but heard Roughie talk about it on PLZ podcast and he was talking how great it was that the players really bought into what had just happened, what it meant and celebrated it like a goal.
Magestic stuff from a world class footballer, that save might secure him a start v Haiti and if Hearts win the title we may well look back on this save as a defining moment.
Roughie recalls the sad night at Ninnian Park when we lost big Jock and Jock`s inspiring words as he replaced Jim Leighton, the last words he ever spoke to him...."right ya fat ******* yer on!"
I`m sure the word of encouragement offered to Craig as he went on were more suitable for a moder audience.

It was an incredible save well worth watching it and yes reminded me of that Gordon Banks save against Brazil all those years ago - should be renamed as a “Gordon” save.

As good a save as I have ever seen. Even more remarkable given his age and that he suffered a horrendous injury recently at an age when most would have thought, time to pack it in.

I get the comparisons with the Gordon Banks` save, they look quite similar but I think in some ways they are polar oposites.
Banks` save was more anticipation, he guessed where Pele was mos likley going to head the ball, he was diving almost before the header.
Craig`s was more reactive in that he initialy seemed to dive the other way the switch direction.
Great goalkeepers need good insticts as well as reactions, I think both are good examples.

Let`s be honest, the Gordon Banks save is massively overrated. It`s a very decent save but if you look at where Banks is positioned the moment Pele heads it from about 10 yards out you`d be disappointed these days if the keeper didn`t stop it.
And although my eyes were open
They just might as well be closed

Always thought that the Banks save was overrated by the English media. It was a good save but seen better over the years. Gordon’s save was phenomenal, give his age and the point in the game. It was crucial. Credit to him. Outstanding.

Shame there wasn`t a TV camera showing the full view from behind the goals. From the front, there`s a player in the way a bit.

Fantastic save, almost scoops it back before it crosses the line right in the corner. Lovely guy too.
