Half the teams still in the draw are in the Premier League, so we`ve got a decent chance of a very winnable tie against a (relatively) lower league club

A home tie against anyone except Rangers/Celtic would be good. However, given the Neil Lennon connection, I have a horrible feeling it will be Celtic! 😢

It would be a rubbish crowd but I`d quite like to see us against Livi again for comparison to last season.

Elgin in the next round, then in the Q/F the winner of the 4th round Spartans/Kelty tie.
Stenny are in good form, so they might just reach the Semi-Final to face the Pars, with the Old Firm in the other S/F.

Falkirk may have played an ineligible player 😂
This raises an interesting hypothetical question. What happens if Falkirk, or any other team, are found to have cheated in a Cup game either by fielding an ineligible player, or one or more players failing a drug test etc?
Do they get stripped of the victory, and the losing team now go through to the next round? Does the game get replayed? Does the next round opponents get a bye?
I`d be interested to know if anyone has a definitive answer, and has it ever happened in Scotland/UK?

They will forfeit the win and hearts will go through. The rules changed to this after we fielded Calum Woods against Stenny and had to replay the game. That is the last game that got replayed.

It is a weird one this..... the club surely wouldn`t play somebody who they didn`t think wasn`t eligible.
You would think the process required the sanctioning body to positively reply that everything was ok with the process. Seems a bit unfair to be told everything is ok (if that was has happened), play the game and then get booted out.

Agreed, it seems lax that the ref/SFA doesn`t pick up on it before the game.
It would make sense for both teams to submit their team sheets to both the ref and each other an hour or so before the game, and that gives both sides, and the ref, time to do any checks and raise concerns. Come kick off, if nothing has been raised, then it gets deemed as all checks complete, nothing found, play on.
