Not wishing to get ahead of myself, or even worse, jinx our chances, the team have played themselves into a great place in the top four.
If we stay there, and I have great optimism for us doing that, do we really fear any of the potential rivals in the playoffs? I know our results against Partick and Ayr haven’t been great but I think we will improve on that in the coming weeks. St Johnstone will still win the league, I think, but I would fancy our chances against the rest, including whoever finishes second bottom of the SPL. We have the strongest squad we’ve had for many years so injuries may not be so costly as they have been in the past, and if players like Amade and Caceres can somehow force their way into real contention for starting spots, the future looks very bright!
Apologies in advance if my optimism causes a sudden decline in performance!

Obviously want us to be in playoffs but would rather go up next season as our squad will be a little more experienced and ready for premiership football.
Plus I want to beat the WEE team 4 times next season 🤣

We`re in the top 4. That`s ours to lose.
If we make it to the playoffs, I`d back us against anyone.

Yesterday and the Hibs game showed that when everyone buys into it and plays at their level, we’re more than capable of competing.
If we finish top four, I honestly can’t see us losing to teams like Killie or Livi over the course of a tie, not if we turn up and play our game.

The best chance we have of holding on to our best players and our manager is getting in the top league as quickly as possible.
Procrastinating over promotion is not an option.

Totally agree with both these points. It’s going to be an interesting few months and as Lennon has said “nobody is getting carried away” but if the players keep hitting those levels, then it’s certainly going to be interesting.

I don’t think anyone’s getting carried away. As Berkey said, if we can finally put a decent run together, something we’ve struggled to do under previous managers, it could be vital in a league where most teams lack consistency, probably St Johnstone being the only exception.
This squad has clearly taken time to build, and it’s refreshing to go into a transfer window without desperately needing four or five starters just to avoid the relegation playoff spots.
There’s still a long way to go, obviously, but for the first time in a long while, we actually look like a team capable of pushing into the promotion playoffs.

The recruitment both in the summer and January so far has been really solid. It`s taken a bit of time for some of the new guys to settle and I think what you`re starting to see is that it`s gelling together now.
There`s no doubt about the talent currently at the club, it`s fantastic and gives them a foundation to build on. If they can find a bit of consistency now in the league, the sky is the limit

I wholly believe promotion is achievable this season.
The league isn’t but we are more than good enough to make the playoffs. Don’t get me wrong it will be extremely difficult to get promoted via the playoffs as we are unlikely to make 2nd in the league however, if we get ourselves there we’re giving ourselves a chance

It`s been a strange season. I`ve been waiting for Arbroath to fall away but they are well clear in third place, I`ve waiting for Ross County to go on a run and climb the table but it`s yet to happen. We are not guaranteed 4th place but we`re in with a shout. Hopefully we can go on a wee run and catch up with Arbroath.
I would love it if Arbroath won the league and we got a play off place. 2 miracle league winners in a row would be quite something.

He said "don`t get carried away" not don`t be mildly optimistic.
Sod it, I`ll say it. 16 point behind St. Johnstone with a game in hand and still to play them at home?
We`ll catch them.
And we are going to Hampden.

I think its one thing to get into the top 4 but another xhallenge to get promotion. Its also about having the foundation to stay up. Realistically we need another season to build and then next season work towards automatic promotion.

I am quietly optimistic. We are at last being entertained,I have that ,can’t wait for Saturday feeling, that’s been missing for years. Think we might have to be patient, and see what develops, but it all looks all very positive. When did we last have that feeling!

Not sure if we do. We had Kane and Thomas on the bench yesterday.
However it would be a real show of intent if we did.

But we could also make 6th so fingers crossed.

The entire point of being a football fan, regardless of your club, is to get carried away, dream, hope, put ridiculously high expectations on a bunch of donkeys, and generally believe the 11 players you cheer on each week are capable of more than the evidence suggests.
Let the players and manager keep a level head, and let the fans get carried away

This is the first time, in a long time, that making the play offs looks a realistic aim and challenge and its down to three factors all being alligned:
1. An owner with ambition who isn’t afraid/shackled to back the manager with finances for players.
2. A manager who has a pedigree as a born winner, who has managed at the very top in this country and who’s man management skills seem fantastic (at least here anyway)
3. The right group of young ambitious players that want to get to that next level.
Keep it going, maybe add 1 more player to the mid (possibly a 5th CM or another striker) and we have every right to aim high.
Cup run as well is looking nice, at least to get into the quarters - get a favourable draw in that and its back to Hampden we could go.

Stuck in this league for far too long, and with this squad and management, fancy our chances to win any play offs, even from 4th place.
Just keep the consistency going!!

As it stands at the moment, we would have to play
4 games to get to the play off final, against the 2cd
bottom team in the Premiership, which as it stands, is
Kilmarnock. I think if we keep improving, as we are, that
Kilmarnock would be very beatable. We could do it but
let`s not get carried away.

I said in my pre-season predictions that I felt this season would be a builder and that as the season went on we would get better and better, so much so that I felt we would finish 2nd but not put in a title fight….i’m going to stick with that, I just wish I could predict the lottery numbers as well 😂😂
I echo the comments of looking forward to a Saturday again, I’m like a wee laddie again, waiting for Saturday to come!
