For the first goal the ball might have taken a slight deflection off the wall but it shouldn`t have been enough to wrongfoot Mehmet. He just seemed to misjudge the bounce of the ball. inexplicable really.
At the sending off Ngwenya was also chasing Mochrie but he was slightly behind him so you can see why the ref saw it as a sending-off.
On reflection we actually created some decent openings in the first half and Andrew Tod, for all the criticism, made some good lay-offs, including the one where Hammy hit the bar. Chasing the game when you`re a man down is never easy and so it proved.

HOWLER of a mistake from Mehmet sets the tone for rest of the game .
We had chances the one that Rudden missed was awful.
Onto next week and another test,Kelty will fancy their chances after that woeful performance.

We’re still early days into the rebuilding of the club under the new owners and management. I didn’t expect us to challenge for the title this year and hoped for the playoffs. Yesterday laid bare what we already knew. The players that are heading out of contract are simply not good enough. Apart from Ngewnga I don’t think anyone will be offered a new deal. The club has much to think about before the transfer window closes tomorrow.

Well as I am a glutton for punishment i watched the highlights to see if i could see anything glaring jump out at me on where we went wrong to compare from yesterday
Firstly I don`t know what Deniz was up to for the first goal , it`s not that it was hit with any venom ( pretty sure my Granny could have got it ) after the gift of a goal you would think we were winning far too many side passes ,nobody being direct and our passing was abysmal, second to every ball , and our crossing least said about that the better , as for our shooting i`ve seen more strength in Bovril ! pretty poor stuff, so my conclusion is we thought we just had to turn up and we would get the 3 points , we were pathetic and sometimes you just have to say the opposition had a game plan and executed it with a little help from the Gift of a goal and a sending off, I think we need to rethink how we approach games at EEP because at present our tactics are just not working so that`s a task for MR NL
Let`s hope we turn up against Kelty

A bit of a shame that about 50% of the chances we created fell to Hammy, who was not having his best ever day at the office.

Mehmet just got his footwork wrong for the goal - should have been a simple sidestep to the ball, and gather it into his midriff. Instead, maybe because he didn`t trust the surface and was worrying about slipping he decided to dive, and made a total horlicks of it (maybe because of some slightly uneven bounce). A complete howler nonetheless.
I`m good with Hamilton being redded for that foul, although not different to the foul on Morrison v Saints.
Just one of those days in my view, a poor performance, everything that could go in Airdrie`s favour did go in Airdrie`s favour and we end up losing the game.
I hope Lennon isn`t too reactionary next week.

I’d imagine Arbroath’s forum is just as gloomy as ours is this week. They were beaten by Queens Park on Saturday. :-(
