🔴⚫️ Melgar announces the return of Jefferson Cáceres
📝The contract is for a year and a half with an option to extend on the part of the rojinegro squad 🔴⚫️
▶️ The negotiation was club-to-club. Melgar didn`t have to pay for his return, but Dunfermline Athletic retained a percentage of his rights for a future sale.
✈️ Jefferson will arrive in Arequipa next weekend and join the training sessions 🏃🏻

Best outcome for all parties. He and his heavily pregnant wife failed to settle here and an unhappy player is no good to his club and not doing himself any favours.
I wish him well and hope he can resurrect his career back at his home club. He`s still young so time is on his side.
Not your average Sunday League player.

Wish him and his family all the best. Can`t have been easy trying to acclimate to a different culture with a baby on the way, hope he goes on to do good well

Looks like the rumours of him not settling were true. Good luck to him and his family to be. Sometimes things just don`t work out.
This is Andy Tod`s world and we are lucky to live in it.

Shame that looked like he could have offered something but after the sending off he never came back.
I assume Sheffield United took a big hit to release him to us on a free and we’ve let him go for free but with a sell on fee should he move for money!
The post below replying to me is by one of .nets finest champions of mediocrity!

It`s a shame it didn`t work out but all the best to him. Hope he and his family are happier back home.
That future % might work out for us long term.
Could the freed up wages be spent on a loan? Oli Shaw? Ross Doohan? Pleeeeeaaase.

It was a bold move to bring Jefferson to EEP, and until his sending-off he looked enthusiastic about being here. TBH at the time I thought Lennon`s immediate response to it was a bit OTT, and after that nothing seemed to work out the way everyone would have liked.
Combine that with his family concerns and the atrocious weather this winter, and I can well imagine he`ll be glad to get back to Peru.
He seems a decent young man and I really hope he can rebuild his career.

Best remembered for sticking the head on someone, that about sums up it up.
At least we got him moved on as big wage & unhappy player no good to anyone, best of luck to him.
Doohan going back to Celtic was a box ticking exercise to circumvent the home grown quota rules for Europe ala Scott Carson at Man City, would still be great signing but cannot see it.

Can’t say it’s come out of the blue but thought that would happen at the end of the season.
Good luck to the lad, I don’t think he ever looked like he was ever going to fit into Scottish Football, that day in Arbroath aside. Sad the way it worked out though, I was genuinely excited when he arrived.

I`ll remember him for that pass to Macleod for the opening goal against SJ in the first game at Perth.
All the best to him.

Good luck to him in the future. I had high hopes for him but he must go down as one of our most disappointing signings of all time.
Not a good advert for the AI that made out he was good enough for Sheffield United to pay £1,700,000 for

Buena suerte Jefferson.
Wasn’t to be. Good luck too the lad for the future.
Arbroath away 5-0 he tore the @rse out of the smokies that day.
He has that South American flare…….
C’est la vie.
‘Hello my name is Jefferson - I’m happy to be here let’s go!’

£1.7million is absolute buttons in context tho. Sheffield have spent close to £90million in the last 3 seasons.
£1.7 was worth a punt on a player who was playing well in his home country
