I`m not sure what the rationale of not playing Bene is all about. I know Ross County are not the strongest opponents but he seemed to be pretty much up to speed to me. He also has the captain`s authority unlike Mullen Hamilton and even Gilmour. His positional play is really good as well. I get he could get found out by faster and more mobile teams but for me he should be in the team.

I thought he looked a bit off the pace last night but that`s understandable given how long he`s been out. He still put in a decent performance and is the best choice we have for a captain

Played well last night.
I would be surprised if he played this weekend given the pace Aberdeen have in Olusanya.

Bene is a good captain. He has great positional sense.
He is always shouting instructions to the players around
him. He doesn`t need to be pacey, he has younger lads
to do that for him. He`s a big presence and I would play
him in most of our games

Think Turley has to start. He was excellent last night

I’d start Turley, Abdulai and Ngwenya as back 3.

Bene’s experience n leadership is great. However he’s starting to lose a yard, which isn’t great for a back three that play a high line. Who knows if we’ll offer him another year in the summer, time will tell. We’ve got to start looking forward and he doesn’t have a lot of years left in his playing career.
Defence picks itself for Saturday imo. JCM, Abdulai & Ngwenya. I wouldn’t be opposed to having Turley in there, maybe even at RWB. Possibly along side Gilmour in the midfield. He was great last night so definitely deserves to start.

In his summing up Kettlewell said Bene bullied his forwards all game , Hamilton won every header and tackle he went for, and our 2 forwards harried and chased down their back line non stop - none of his own players came close to matching any of them (in his words)

I thought he played well vs. County. My one observation is his passing isn’t sharp enough. He trickles the ball (usually) to either of his fellow center halves and the lack of pace on the ball puts them under immediate pressure. That could be match sharpness but I noticed it a couple of times (at least).

Can`t understand, why there are so many Benedictus
doubters on here. He would be in my team, as captain
every game. He`s a proper leader where Mullen has not
got the same experience

I think the issue isn’t whether Bene is a good leader or a good player, rather that he tends to lie a bit deeper.
Lennon favours the press out of defence forcing the opposition on the back foot.

Maybe that`s the reason why the defence was so good
on Tuesday night. They looked a lot more solid than they
against Queens Park.

Good player, at the end of his career and has served the club well. Like everyone he gets older, slower and has limitations.
Lovely to see a great performance against a team at the bottom of the league. Stick him in against a ‘poor’ Aberdeen team that competed with Celtic toe to toe literally yesterday it will not go well.
