Gannon Doak boost

I didn`t notice any posts about him lately so I asked AI. If it`s to be believed, he`s expected to make it to the WC finals. Here`s what the great digital god has to say:

AFC Bournemouth Comeback: On 20 March 2026, Doak made his competitive return as a late substitute in Bournemouth`s 2-2 draw against Manchester United.

Match Fitness: To build sharpness, he also started for Bournemouth’s developmental side in a Premier League Cup fixture against West Brom on 27 March 2026.

International Update

Scotland Squad: Doak was omitted from Steve Clarke’s Scotland squad for the March 2026 friendlies against Japan and Ivory Coast. Clarke explained the decision was to allow Doak to focus on his "critical" final recovery stage at his club.`

World Cup Hopes: Despite missing the March camp, he is expected to be fully fit for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North America this summer.

Can AI tell us whether Aaron Hickey will make the World Cup squad? I reckon he`d be a big miss if he was unavailable.

Hickey was expected back after this international break. That’s come from Brentford rather than AI

Be great if they were fit.

Doak offers something we don’t have with his pace and Hickey is a level above Patterson/Ralston.

Both had a torrid couple of years with injuries so despite AI’s advice it’s more hope than expectation for me at present. Not long left in the season though so could be coming back at the right time for us.

Hickey has had recurring hamstring problems similar to what plagued Tierney. He is due back soon so fingers crossed he stays fit now as he is a very good player.

We really need all our best players to be available. There’s a few we can afford to be missing but Doak and Hickey are in the group of about 7/8 that we really need.

What an opportunity we missed in 2014.
