I don`t know if this factors into NL`s thinking, but there`s another smart reason to play this line up against Thistle.
We might well play Thistle in the play offs. This line up gives more of our players the chance to play against them, without Thistle getting any real sense of what our line up might be for those games.
I know I`m clutching at straws, but it could give us a tiny edge...perhaps?

PT very quickly get behind the ball when they lose it. You really have to play on the front foot and when you have space going forward you need to have a go at goal. Knocking the ball back just makes them look good defensively. When yourun at them they panic. We .ake them look better than they are at times

It`s still a playoff regardless of 3rd or 4th. But if we`re caught with group behind then we`ll be in no playoff. Just gives them hope gaining ground. 7 points ahead with 12 available is tough ask though. But doable

What`s strange about it?
They are unlikely to pick up 7 or even 8 points over us with 4 games to play.
We just need 3 points to secure 4th, and that is assuming one of the teams on 39pts finish with 100%.
With Ayr winning we can go 3rd on Tuesday, giving a slight advantage in the playoffs quarters.

Pretty much but not sealed.
3 teams 7 behind with 12 to play for.
If we win on Tuesday we just need two points even if one of the chasers win their last 4 games.
I don`t think its being too optimistic to say we are going to make it.
We were always up against it to get a result at Partick. It was smart resting players a bit for Tuesday. Much more likely points.

I think that the best we coukd have hoped for today was a point with our stringest team out. The most important game will be Tuesday where 3 points will pretty much secure 4th place. We need to leave ourselves a good chance of beating Falkirk next week so I thought today was a bit of a non game for us. Gives the chance for the squad who havent played much to get a run out. At the end of tge day a playoff spot is for us to lose not other teams to win.
