It looks very much like SJ have sold out the away end and have been allocated the main stand east wing. Because they can win the league if the beat us on Tuesday night they are bringing a bigger than usual support.

Here’s hoping Pars fans come out in their numbers to watch one of the 2026 Scottish Cup Finalists spoil the party and clinch a play-off spot.

I’d be surprised if any of Fraser, JCM, Morrison, or A. Tod start. QP on Saturday is the more likely game to get the result required.

This is Andy Tod`s world and we are lucky to live in it.

Would expect anyone that can be rested to be rested. Also our main players

It`s great they sold out the allocation - wasn`t too fussed about the game, which would be strange to watch- but now it`s a good reason to watch the game.

I`m looking forward to it, if nothing else to cheer us onto the park- regardless of results, the players and management (and the owners etc) have been brilliant, I can`t remember such a feeling.

The thing is we have depth in the squad that can give St Jonstone a good game and beat them imo.
Give players a rest and we still have Hammy,Fyfe and Booth that can start..

Only 5 outfield players played the full 120 minutes and another 2 played more than 90. There`s an argument for getting the play-off place settled ASAP and for going for 3rd instead of 4th to get home advantage in the second leg. Ideally the final league game against Arbroath would be a `dead rubber` although it would depend on how their penultimate game went.

Trouble is, some of the play-off games come before the cup final as well. And if we make it to the finals of the play-offs, they will be rescheduled for Tuesday 26th and Friday 29th of May, according to -https://spfl.co.uk/news/play-off-schedule-confirmed

Bear in mind the cup final is on Saturday 23rd of May and you can see how mind-boggling it has become for NL to deal with all our upcoming fixtures.

Whatever the outcomes for us now, I`m sure NL`s team selections will be the very best fist he can make of the whole kit and kaboodle.

Our players LOVE playing and, as most players, hate training. They`ll be buzzing that it`s game after game after game as training will be limited.

Might be a couple rested but Lenny won`t want a humping live on TV.

He pretty much said it was pedal to metal for the rest of the season.

I`m sure that I seen somewhere that there could be a chance that Zac Rudden could be back for the play off games.
Is it a possibility or is he defo out for the rest of the season?

Several players were on their last legs after extra time, literally - Fraser, for example, was struggling to walk back to the dressing rooms after the celebrations.

I think NL will rest a few Tuesday.

I think Zak Rudden said at a POTY event last week that he hoped to be fit for the play-off games if we qualified for them. Rory Macleod can`t be far away after being on the bench at Airdrie and he seemed to be in the party at Hampden yesterday.

Our main objectives are to:

1. secure a play-off place
2. win the cup
3. win promotion.

I think there would be a very good chance that St Johnstone could achieve the first objective for us by avoiding defeat to the Rovers in Perth on Friday.

Even if they don`t, it`s well within our capabilities to get the point we might need from QP or Arbroath.

My choice would not be to try and win at all costs - what on paper is the toughest of our remaining league games - against the Saints, by risking our best players. I would field a team similar to the one that showed up well with a will to win against Airdrie.

If it happens that, by Friday, we got nothing from the Saints, and the Rovers beat them, then we`d have to think of bringing out our big guns against QP.

If we field our best players against St Johnstone and even one of them is injured or knackered, that could jeapordise our chances against the Hoops. At this stage, I would prioritise the need to maximise our chances in the play-off matches and the cup final by taking a calculated - but by no means desperate - risk, and protect our strengths.

I would do that and see which way the wind blows on Friday after the Saints v Rovers.

However, I fully support whatever NL decides.

Agreed.

It would be nice to finish 3rd, but that will still be in our own hands if we lose to St J on Tuesday.

Players on the fringe will be desperate to show the manager they should be in contention for the Cup Final, and/or for a renewed contract - especially with a club that will definitely be financially much better off next season, and might even be in the Premiership and Europe!

Agree with this. We need to take calculated risk and Lennon has very skillfully done so to date. We need to ensure we have players available for the run-in and cup final, and I have confidence Lennon will use the squad wisely.

We need to go as strong as we possibly can on Tuesday and get the play offs wrapped up then we can rest players for QP and Arbroath.

We don’t want to have to bring the big guns out and they get results in the last 2 especially against Arbroath who we would playing in the playoffs. I’d imagine they’d be a few hard tackles put in during that game.

Morrison I’d imagine will start on Tuesday and that’s why he was replaced during 90mins on Saturday.

I don’t imagine we’ll see the likes of Mullen, Kane or Fraser on Tuesday.

A. Tod, Matty and Gilmour I can see on the bench.

Amade again was replaced in 90mins on Saturday probably with Tuesday in mind.

Something along the line of

Terrell

Kearney Davidson Bene J. Tod Bray

Amade Hammy

Cooper

Morrison Fyfe

A. Tod, Ngwenya, Abdulai, Todd, Oakley-Boothe and Gilmour on the bench.

We also have the Fife cup final on Wednesday as well so it would be a shame to chuck all the young guys out on Tuesday when they’ve have played to get to a final. The only good thing is that if we go weakened tomorrow and get beat on Friday the rovers play so we would already know what we would need out of the Queen’s Park game

Courier reporting 2.5k tickets sold by lunchtime today to St Johnstone fans for tomorrow. The total is expected to reach 3k.

They`re obviously coming expecting their promotion to be confirmed.

Great week financially for the club.

St.J were well worth their win yesterday over the 90 minutes.

First half could have been 2 or 3 down had the taken chances created by attacking play - and clattering the bar.

We only settled when Charlie Gilmour appeared.

Some other key players missing - JCM and Fraser.

A pretty flat game with a pretty flat atmosphere, which was only to be expected, after the weekend.

The ars**ole Mcpake lucky to stay on the park after trying to poke out our defenders eyes, along with Paton with the elbow!

We need to get streetwise and go down like a sack of tatties at these incidents, pity there`s no VAR😡

Need to pick it up for the weekend return to Hampden!

Needs to be sensible.
If raith dont get a point we are in play offs, then comes the issue of, it would be useful to finish above arbroath.
After that it gets difficult, do we go full to get through the play offs or do we hedge our bets to keep players for the final. On a good day we could scare celtic, but unlikely to win so play offs are my priority.
Glad I`m not a manager.

I know obviously the prize money improves for finishing 3rd instead of 4th but I quite like looking at it like if we’re safe on the final day rest the players since then Arbroath would then be down on the Friday then have to come back down on the Tuesday instead of us going up to them on the Tuesday

St J have nothing to play for. They are only holiday.
They might want a win for their title party but nothing like their motivation for last night.

Someone of a more unscrupulous mind than I might not be too surprised at last night`s result.
St Johnstone win last night, and gain promotion. We put in a shift, but don`t empty our tanks.
On Friday, St Johnstone repay the favour by taking 3pts off Raith.
Further, I think most would prefer to face Partick in a 2-leg playoff than St Johnstone, so perhaps a victory for the Saints last night was also a victory for us...

Conspiracy theories are great fun but do you really think all the players of two clubs are fully agreeable to something like this? It could all go wrong anyway if Raith play out of their skins and win whilst the SJ players are thinking of their holidays.

I`m not suggesting for a second that it was fixed, or orchestrated, but losing last night wasn`t too bad for us. At some point, all things aligning, we will face 2nd place in a 180 minute playoff, and I`d much prefer to face Partick than Saints.

"No opposing team has ever won the league at EEP, lets keep it that way tonight."

In terms of strict 100% accuracy that is not absolutely correct.

Mind you it would have meant the Pars beating Celtic by 13 goals to deny them the league championship the Tuesday night after we lifted the cup 1968.

Aberdeen had effectively handed Celtic the title on the Saturday by beating Rangers 3-2 at Ibrox, last league game of the season.

Back in the day when the SFA and Scottish League conspired to have the showpiece cup final played the same day as a potential league decider.

They had a previous conviction for the same nonsense `64-65.
