 MoM

I though Matty Todd was outstanding and was my MoM

Cameo`s by Chris Hamilton who put the steel into midfield that got us across the line and Lucas Fyfe who was unlucky not to score.

All local guys who love the Pars and our outstanding manager will get the best out of them.

But there were other hero`s the whole team will go down in Pars history after this result, ruining Falkirk`s dream season was a bonus.

The future is bright the future is Black and White

Thought Ngwenya was immense again, one of the reasons Falkirk were so poor going forward. Their best chances came from them coming down our right. When Miller moved over to our left for the 2nd half, he barely touched the ball

I really struggled to single anyone out yesterday, but for me it was probably between Todd, Gilmour and Ngwenya. The whole team gave absolutely everything.

A tough choice between Matty Todd and Gilmour, two very different styles and they brought very different, but much needed, attributes to the game. I`d go Todd if I really had to call it, simply because his efforts are obvious and seen, whereas Gilmour does what he does often unnoticed.

Matty Todd, Gilmour, and the back 3 were solid.
Calvin miller and Stewart barely had an impact in match. Can’t fault anyone really solid professional disciplined team and every Sub had a positive impact

Matty Todd or Ngwenya for me. Did I hear right that the stadium announcer gave it to the keeper? All he had to do was save one penalty.

My instant response is Gilmour, because that`s my instant response almost every match. In a 0-0 draw against a team from the league above you the defence gets a lot of credit, because their discipline gave a platform to the team to go on and win. So my considered response is Ngwenya.

Matty Todd was immense though.

I think there were a few contenders. I thought Nuru, Keiran and JCM were outstanding. Matty and Fraser were also imense. Best game I have seen Matty play. Midfield with Charlie and Fonzie did alot of the hard graft in a difficult area of the park. Both were also outstanding. Up front there was alot of graft in chasing the ball down but also trying to create chances. A Todd, Chris Kane and Callum Morrison worked really hard, sometimes tgat goes unnoticed. Chris Hamilton won every second ball when he came on, Tash did really well to create that chance for Lucas. All well taken penalties. Tash with the pressure at the end. Very difficult to choose, but for me it was our defensive players collectively who limited Falkirk to very few chances or made sure tge moves broken down. It was testiment to the players who have played a number of games in recent weeks to keep going to the end. Cramp was creeping into the legs of some of the players but mentally they kept going. If John McGlynn was honest with himself, he would be gracious in saying tgat we wanted it more, we worked harder, created the better chances and deserved to win. In some respects I thought some aspects of the Press had written us off before he game. NL made an important post match comment referring to himself as a player and manager in that he always believed in himself. Creating winners is about self belief and he has instilled that into a group of players who have all of the other skills and attributes needed. Great team effort, great committment and athleteism , great performance.

Ngwenya, Abdulai, Gilmour, and amade I thought were the rock of the team and were all outstanding.

Thought every substitute played really well when brought on too.

Thought our back 5 were superb.

JCM very solid and a good ball carrier.

Abdulai I was worried for after the early booking, looking a little rash at times but he was immense the rest of the match.

Ngwenya was the best player on the pitch. How he got booked beggars belief.

Todd and Fraser`s energy was potentially match winning. Both put an absolute power of work in nullifying their threats

C'mon Ye Pars!

Nurudeen for me. Absolutely magnificent the whole game. So were the whole team to be fair, but if you had to give it to one player then he gets my vote.

really hard choice but think I would go with JCM or maybe Abdulai or Todd oe maybe Amade. I was surprised Amade was taken off when he was but called the others.

Todd for me, defended brilliantly and was the only `out ball` for us on plenty occassions to actually get up the park and take the pressure off.

Did well too when he swapped sides as i thought Falkirk`s right back was their best player yesterday.

Tough. Most of our top players were defenders. Nuru had a very good game. His pace is invaluable

Nurudeen absolutely pocketed Barney Stewart.

MOTM could have been any of those in defence IMO.

McGlynn said post match:-

"We scored two goals against Rangers last week. We scored three against Motherwell the week before that. We scored four against Hibs. We scored five against Kilmarnock, and today in 120 minutes, you know, we couldn`t get a goal..."

Gilmour was also excellent in front of them.

Mullen for me. But the back three were immense. They`re going to have to deal with Forrest e al now. But I have faith they can do a good job.

Matty Todd for me. In a game bereft of creation, he was the one player looking like he would make the difference.

The three central defenders were immense, couldn’t go beyond nominating one of them - several others outstanding as well.

Only disappointing performer was Morrison.

Callum should def have done better with his chance and maybe we would have had a different game.

Interesting that both he and Barney had pretty poor games.

Maybe the added aspect of playing against a former team in such a massive game was a factor for them🤔

Agreed. I wonder if Morrison in particular was trying too hard to do that little bit extra, instead of relying on his game. I certainly couldn`t fault his effort, and in the post-match celebrations he joined in enthusiastically.

I think Callum maybe tried too hard. A difficult day for him against his former club. I`m sure he will reflect on the game and come out of it a better player.

Just watched the whole game again, the back 3 were outstanding and Oxborough didn`t have a "serious " save to make till extra time!

There were so many good perfornances on Saturday it`s almost disrespectful to pick out someone as MOM. It was a complete team performance which is what we fans look for every week.

There were a couple of telling individual contributions which impacted the eventual outcome - Oxborough for his penalty save and TOB for slotting home the crucial penalty. TOB hasn`t realised his potential at the Pars but on Saturday he showed some glimpses of his capabilities with the pass from which Fyfe hit the bar and an earlier ball into the 6-yard box which was begging for someone to get a touch.

Yes agree TOB showed what he can do against better teams. His two crosses from wide positions were perfect. His second he showed the pace that he has running into the penalty box. He took two or three yards off the defender over 10 yards. He has all the attributes so good to see him slotting home the penalty to take is to the final.
