The dark days of Pep ball are a distant memory, PSG and even Bayern play incredible football. The English Premier league are so far behind this style of football. PSG 5 Bayern 2 after 60 minutes .

The blueprint for modern football. Outstanding skill.
The decision to award PSG the penalty in the first half I thought was scandalous though.

They were out of the tie at 5-2 but they had the lion’s share of possession second half.
PSG sub hits the bar and Hakimi might have done his hammy. Fine margins but could be crucial?
Losing Hakimi would be a huge blow for the French.

Agreed, he`s an absolute machine of a player. Had the pleasure of seeing him a few times live, when he played for BVB. Everytime, he was exceptionally good.

Watching players like Kvaratskhelia, Olise, Diaz, Dembele etc are why you want to go watch football. Fast paced attacking football, taking defenders on, brilliant to watch.
So sick of boring possession based football which has been the trend that has trickled down into lower league football in recent years.

Henry on tv last night saying it was terrible and a 1-0 would be much better , trying to justify boring Arsenals approach, even Rooney was at it saying neither manager should be happy.

I`m gutted at missing that game last night. It has echoes of the best Pars game I`ve ever seen - a 5-4 last-minute loss to Celtic in November 1966. 6 months later, that same team were champions of Europe. The Pars led by 2 goals 3 times but were eventually clawed back.
I`d quite fancy watching the full PSG - Bayern game. Anybody know where I can get rit?

Honestly I think pep ball only really infected England. Pep can’t really be blamed either, he had an incredible midfield messi at Barca and built an incredible midfield at City. He uses players who have the ability and discipline to play that way.
The Russell Martins/Wilfred Nancys of the world tried to do the same with bang average performers

No he didn`t try playing Pep ball.
Under Tidser we didn`t press the ball, we didn`t move the ball quickly.
We fannied about passing between the centre backs for ages, then a ball into midfield and straight back to the centre backs, all at a snails pace.
Then a punt up the park where 99 times out of 100 we lost the ball.

Agreed - the English Prem is boring, the football is so cagey, every single team tries to play on the counter, which is just awful to watch.
What I also find weird is that in the title race the media and fans of the Other 18 all seem to be cheering on Man City. It`s like wanting one of the OF to win the SPFL over Hearts. I don`t like Hearts but I`d love them to win it. I don`t understand why a Brighton fan, for instance, would be rooting for City?
It`s weird.

It’s because Arsenal fans are so full of themselves when their team have won nothing for years plus any win for city is tainted by the 115 charges, so to most fans a win for City doesn’t really mean anything, all their achievements have a massive asterisk against them, their greatest strength currently is the ability of their lawyers. I agree though EPL football isn’t as strong as it once was in terms of the leading teams but strength in depth is far higher eg Brighton, Bournemouth, Brentford etc. all good teams to watch.

I live in North London - I know loads of Arsenal fans with season tickets. They`re all humble decent people.
Maybe the online fanbase is annoying (worse than other teams?) but the ones I know who go to games are sound as a pound.
I think your sweeping generalisation is massively unfair

Glad you know some good ones, they get 60k to home games so I’d hope there would be a few. Perhaps a bit of a sweeping statement and You’re also correct about the online fans but add Arsenal tv and Piers Morgan to the mix and the sense of entitlement of any Arsenal fan I’ve ever met and it’s easy to come the conclusion there is a reason why fans of other teams like to see them fail. Personally though I hope they win the league as I despise Man City and the corrupt regime that owns them.

Fair enough. Piers Morgan is such a raging phallus that it`s natural to want his team to lose.
But I`m with you - Arsenal over Man City every single time. I can`t fathom why any non City fan would want them to win (possibly Spurs as an exception). They represent every thing that`s wrong with modern top tier football.
