Rules need looked at, plain and simple. Shouldn’t be able to recall on loan goalies to cover your injured ones. Especially if it means them missing important games.

Why didn’t they recall him yesterday. I do t blame Terrel. I do t blame anyone. We have got to semi final and a cup final on a paper thin squad. Partick deserve it in the end. Or we would have finished 2nd instead of 4th.

The rules make it more likely that you will get that kind of player on loan. If that clause didn`t exist would Motherwell just have kept him and not loaned him out in the first place?

Blaming Terrell for the first goal is beyond harsh.
Makes a guid save, gets confused - I think the ref would have given a pass back so he tries to clear on his weak foot, ball hits Samuel - could`ve gone anywhere - and it couldn`t have landed more perfectly for Chalmers.
Second goal - it`s a weird one. We all stopped and didn`t play to the whistle. It`s a guid ball into the dangerzone, Terrell either stays back and Samuel gets a free shot, or tries to come - he ends up in no mans land and Samuel finishes well.
Arguably his starting position could have been further forward, but once the perfect ball was played it was Catch 22

They can recall whenever they like. He`s their player.
Listened to a podcast a week or so ago called something like `Motherwell: The Scottish Premiership kingmakers` all about how they`d have a huge say in the premiership title race. Well they`ve also had a huge say in the championship playoffs....

Very harsh to blame Billy for those goals, especially the second when the ref should have stopped play with Stanway? still down in the penalty area. I think NL will have something to say about that.

They can’t recall him when they want. Only in an emergency and for 7 days and only if they have an injury.

First goal he is 100% at fault. It’s his clearance that hits the first man? Second goal he’s neither coming or going he’s in no mans land and his positioning is that poor Samuel flicks a header near post

I`ve never seen a keeper with such a poor understanding of when to come out and when to stay, he`s done it all season
I said it on the other thread already but you can only use the excuse of being young and learning for so long, he`s young... ish, he`s older than the Partick keeper tonight & the St J keeper that won the league this season.
It`s basic stuff he lacks. He`s a bombscare.

they wouldnt want to risk an injury tonight but maybe it was a rules/time thing and with early kick offs tomorrow it had to be done today.
will be even more frustrating when he is sitting on the bench though!
on Terrell, know he signed a new deal at the start of the year but i wont be surprised if he moves on this summer.

In his post-match press conference on COWS NL says he only found out yesterday that Ox wouldn`t be available for tonight`s game. He`s not one to mince his words and said he hoped Billy would have performed better than he did.

If anyone doesn’t think the keeper is at fault for the first goal, then they’d be best to give up watching football. He literally just needs to clear it and can’t even manage that

I’m with the OP, I’ve went from a few weeks ago hoping Motherwell would get involved in the league challenge and actually win the thing, to tonight, now really hoping they go out of business and die!
Might be extreme to some but for me, they’ve burnt any bridges and goodwill; f-them all

I agree with General Zod as well. Partick finished 15 points ahead of us. Play-offs need a rethink. Second top should be rewarded with playoff with second bottom from league above. Simple as.

GK is at fault for both goals unfortunately. He made some good saves but ultimately lack of game time has hit hard, if he had been playing regularly I don’t think he makes these errors

Let’s look at things slightly differently. If Amade had cleared the ball on Tuesday and last night then maybe we would be through. We definitely wouldn’t be blaming the GK anyway. Why is nobody on Amade’s case?

The thing that really got on my nerves last night was that, after the poor kick for the first goal (which wasn’t an isolated incident, as his kicking was poor most of the night) we still insisted on passing it back to him. Surely someone on our bench had to get the word onto the pitch to clear it ourselves instead of passing it back to a struggling keeper.
This is Andy Tod`s world and we are lucky to live in it.

Remember thinking to myself that we needed to protect the keeper better than that - he`d just made a great save. Help him out ffs instead of putting him back in danger / under pressure 🤔

^^^ Have to agree with JF
Terrell came out of early a few times and got his position all wrong. This needs addressed. You can see the nervousness and doubt in his actions.
On a positive note, he is a good stopper of the ball and extremely brave going down to the ball when PT had a few 1 on 1`s with the keeper to beat
I would have preferred Big Ox in goal but it is what it is and in my opinion PT thoroughly deserved their win on the night.
We, at least, have something to look forward to next weekend and next season 🙏

I don`t feel any anger towards Motherwell. It`s frustrating that they can find 2 keepers they think are better than Oxborough and Oxborough himself yet we`re left scrabbling around in the summer with only Mehmet as our only signed keeper.
You can tell Lennon was raging inside at what happened but was keeping a lid on it for obvious reasons.
Surely to god this gets addressed as a priority in the close season.

Personally if I was Aston I’d be slightly peeved off about the situation too, yeah he’ll know he should be back for the cup final. But last night arguably is just as big, a real chance for a promotion push and him watching Terrell’s performance will make him think I could’ve made a difference and put myself on show.
He has a year left at Motherwell, but if I was him after the cup final I’d be chucking in a transfer request. Whether he ends back up with us next season, that remains to be seen but we should try our upmost to get him. But he’s much better than 2nd/3rd choice at Motherwell. So should have no problem finding a club.
