Playing in our away kit according to the Courier as Celtic are the ‘home’ team. No mention of why they are the home team.

From The Courier:
Dunfermline are preparing for their first Scottish Cup final in 19 years on Saturday – and will have to avoid a kit clash.
As part of their ‘Be PARt Of It’ campaign, they have issued a rallying call for local businesses to ‘paint the city black and white’ ahead of the clash with Celtic.
However, the Fifers will NOT be playing in their usual monochrome colours at Hampden.
Instead, they will be wearing their change kit of all red with black and white trim.
Dunfermline have been designated as the ‘away’ team for the showpiece occasion thanks to the way the draw for the semi-finals was made.
That means Celtic get the honour of donning their traditional green and white hoops.
With the Pars’ predominantly white top with black vertical stripes being deemed too similar, it is Neil Lennon’s side who will have to change.
When the clubs last met in the final in 2007, the Fifers – who were again the ‘away’ team – wore their new, all black European kit they would use the following season.
Three years earlier, Dunfermline were kitted out early in their new 2004/05 home strip, with Celtic being forced into their change gear.
When the two teams faced each other in the cup finals of 1961 and 1965, both were deemed able to wear their home colours.

For a cup final, if the authorities deceide there`s a clash, I would say both teams should change. It`s daft to classify one team as the home team on a neutral ground.

It’s more who gets home dressing room
But also if the st mirren Celtic game wasn’t a clash I don’t see how we could be but I’ve said from the start I don’t want to be in our home kit as it might confuse a player when they only have split second on the ball

Agreed. If we can`t wear our home top I think the Skids one would be more fitting for the occasion.

What are St Mirren`s backs like? If all black for the number then that`s a big difference from Celtic, from behind ours and Celtic not so different.

Would have been nice to wear black and white stripes this time, considering we didn`t in any of three previous three finals against them.
Agree that if we have to change, the Skids kit would be better though.

Only worn it twice at lesser Hampden both times
with a 1 - 1 & 2 - 0 victory
So unbeaten in it and both times at Hampden also

Surely the club can clarify…
A fitting way to wear our most iconic strip ever….. at the National Cup Final.
Celtic v Leeds 1970… Leeds wore white tops and shorts 🤷🏼♂️

I imagine that the rules state that in the event of a clash of colours, the away team (Dunfermline) have to wear their change kit. Our registered change kit will be the red strip. Not sure if there is any leeway for the club to ask to use the skids top.
Is there any word on the replica kit order arriving, and is the club shop open on Saturday morning?

Teams get permission to wear anniversary strips as Motherwell wore against Celtic recently so I see no valid reason why we can’t wear the skids top……If the club have requested to of course……

I’m not a fan of the skids top TBH, so if we can’t wear our home strip then I’m pleased it’s the red one
