 PARStv no more?

PARStv no more?

I tried to renew my subscription to PARStv for season 2026-2027 but could not.
Brian told me he was advised that he would no longer be doing PARStv.

Anyone know what the club is doing?
Will there be a new service?
What happens to the commentary team?
Etc...

I`m sure I read somewhere the new owners were looking at bringing it all together with the other - really impressive, IMO - social media stuff?

I too would like to thank Brian and the ParsTV team for their efforts over the years. Hopefully the club will be replacing ParsTV with something else for expat fans.

Looks like I`ve moved back to Dunfermline permanently in time!

If that`s the case, I`ve subscribed for years to ParsTV (lived in Curacao and Malta) and my heartfelt thanks go to Brian and the team- they have made our quality of life much better, and being able to watch Pars games in the strangest of locations has been invaluable - again thanks so much for such a great service.

I won`t be subscribing anyway this season (happily I can now watch the games at EEP- can`t beat being there) but if they are bringing it more `in house` I hope it`s excellent - the communication and professionalism at the club has improved greatly.

Brian

So very, very sorry to hear this!!! I can’t Imagine what they will do without you!! Thank you for all your hard work.

All these years of volunteering and suddenly no more.

Seems to be all the volunteers who have given so much of their time and effort over a lot of year, are slowly being ditched.

What is happening behind the scenes at the club we all love……..

A sad time!!!

Let’s work our way back to Premier League 👌😀

If that`s the case then I`m really sorry to hear that there will be no more ParsTV!

Having lived outside of Scotland since 2013, ParsTV has always been a bit of a lifeline connection to the Pars and I always looked forward to seeing the interviews and highlights on a Sunday. Big thank you to all involved for the years of dedication!

Really hope the club recognizes Brian, Jordan ans everyone involved with free season tickets for a long period or something like this!

I hope it`s the case that the same volunteers will be involved as I`ve really enjoyed the commentary any time I`ve used the service on holiday. Also like the interviews.

A big thank you to Brian and the team for all their efforts regardless.

That’s disappointing news. But hopefully the club has something else planned that’s as good or better. Living in the Middles East for the last 12 years PARSTv has been a god send. Everyone has done a great job. Thankyou all.

Well said, TP. Fans who complained about Pars TV prices will almost certainly find the new company will charge significantly more.

Sad to hear that Brian has been moved on. Such is the times though and it’s of no real surprise if the club owners who are immersed in the digital market have newer ideas.

New commentary will be a step in the right direction too. Not going to be popular with the usual suspects on here, but anyone who can’t make the game that then has to endure the commentary we’ve had can’t honestly say they enjoy it! Monotoned misinformation and interviews where the question is asked and half answered at the same time.

Personally I would like the young lads responsible for the social media getting a crack at the commentary or something along those lines.

Just my own view:
- the PARStv season subscription cost was good value for money
- streaming glitches were often due to facilities encountered at away grounds
- I didn`t need Gary Lineker quality commentaries

I do not know how many regular viewers PARStv had, but I guess a few hundred only. It might be overkill to provide a fully professional streaming and commentary service.

Doesn`t need to be fully professional - the wee team have one run totally by volunteers and theirs remains the gold standard for lower league clubs.

The Pars TV guys have done a great job under often difficult circumstances.

I know I`ve suggested this before but, surely David Cooks position on the spfl board could help to push through some standards in terms of streaming? Setup a shared streaming service for all, or encourage teams to provide shared space, etc through stadium licencing standards?

If done well it can be a great opportunity for Gamdon/owners to sell their site.
If done to a TV Studio standard - I would happily pay more than .net version.

Interesting idea, but surely there can`t be that many overseas subscribers anyway. Most of them will be Pars fans who know who Gamdom are anyway.

It would be interesting to know what the subscriber numbers are and what revenue it brings in anyway.

The amount of people I know in Dunfermline that used to go to Pars games but now just stay home with a few cans and watch the stream on their fire stick must be affecting crowds to an extent. I say, stop broadcasting ParsTV and get folk back to East End Park. For the handful watching overseas, they will just have to do without, they only moan about the service anyway.

This will be fun 😂 fair play to ParsTV over the years for streaming worldwide and during covid etc when it was vital. May not see eye to eye with Brian on things, but this has been a success over time.

But…..the last season or so there have been increasing issues and debates on here regarding the streaming service. Maybe the club have listened to this and are now going to invest in it more to improve it?

BTW, it is the same platform that provides streaming for Falkirk in the SPL. If it’s good enough for them…

Under normal circumstances, PARStv would have started collecting subscriptions for next season from July 1st. PARStv were advertising coverage of the first friendly against Clyde. All that has just been stopped by the club with no official announcement.

I sent an email to enquiries@dafc.co.uk asking what is happening, but so far have received no reply. Anyone on .net in a position to pop by the club and find out what is actually happening?

I have no idea, but Id hazard a guess at them trying to making it a slightly more professional styled set up? We need to remember that the owners are businessmen that will be trying to sell the clubs to sponsors/investment.

What I think they need though is proper communication soon as to what is happening with it to avoid losing subscribers.

Also, its very easy to stream games via fawanews etc these days.

I very much doubt there were many getting ParsTv on dodgy fire sticks. It certainly couldn`t be relied on so it`s doubtful anyone was having their pals round to watch it rather than go to the game.

As for locking it to overseas only - it already is. You just need a VPN (or a dodgy stick) to get round that.

If someone new can get round the issues experienced by Brian and Co then that will be great for the overseas viewers but I personally always enjoyed the highlights (well...not when we lost!).

Last season ParsTV was readily available on some paid IPTV services, I know previous to last season he was on the ball with stopping it, it seems he dropped the ball last season!

And as for getting folk back to EEP to watch the game as someone said “What if people are disabled and can’t get to the ground or live too far away? Streaming is definitely a poor substitute to going and id be very surprised if there are too many who would’ve went to the game would sack it off to watch over the internet! Indeed it may be said that if you are playing say Partick on a cold November Wednesday night that there might be more revenue to be made from Pars Fans who wouldn’t normally have went anyway than those staying at home to watch it on the net!

There are so many arguments and counter arguments

I’m pretty sure it’s very hard to watch a pars home game on a Firestick. Brian put blocks on that a few years back.

ParsTV was on my firestick any game I needed it. Didn’t stop me going to any games but the one I couldn’t make were available. Almost every championship game was available to watch.
