 Clyde (1) v Dunfermline (2) Final score
Topic Originator: Paralex
Date:   Sat 27 Jun 14:37

Not many Pars fans here yet. Just about 100, I think. Nice day for a game. I can see about 24 or 25 Dunfermline players warming up. Looks like we`ll be utilising the whole squad.

So, sitting at New Douglas Park, waiting for kick off. Think it’s clear now that JCM has not been training with the squad.

More interestingly, doesn’t look like Connor Young is getting that “summer to impress” either, as he is nowhere to be seen. John Tod is hovering around the back of the dugout in training kit, limping, so has obviously picked up some kind of knock or injury.

Good save by Terrell there. Followed by an error at a corner. 2-1 now.

Son has noticed that Abdulai, Fraser and Shaw have take on the old squad numbers of Otoo, Hamilton & Todd respectively.

Hasn`t clocked anybody wearing JCM or Ngwenya`s numbers.

Uh oh, Nuri went down quite heavily on the plastic pitch there and is getting subbed off.

Holding his shoulder.

Looked very similar to Zak in the way he fell and how he was supporting the weight of his arm on the way off. ☹️

Yeah I think he could have dealt better with the corner.

So Abdulia injured and Kane also apparently and I read on EEB that John Tod is injured too ffs.

What’s the script with Kane and JT ?

What an opportunity we missed in 2014.

To be fair he was a complete c*ck and she added absolutely nothing to the commentary. Nearly as poor as the football on show.

We badly lack any strength or pace in the team.

Absolutely no issue with the stream though which was very good throughout.

I am totally chill and fully understand it is preseason but was really poor after a bright first 10 minutes.

Fingers crossed that Abdulai isn’t too bad

Just back in the car, Kane was on the bench but you can only assume he’s behind everyone else in the training.

New lads, Corbally, had a bright First Half, looks technically good and made a good first impression. Shaw did ok, never had any standout moments but looked ok.

Abdualai is going to be about for a few months, it’s safe to say. Not good, not good at all. Interesting that Bene wasn’t involved when numbers are so low, so think it’s pretty much retirement for him.

Second Half was a damp squib. Thought Rory & Euan MacLeod looked really good as did Freddie Rowe, would expect the 2 of them along with Davidson to be in and amongst the squad this season.

Never read too much into pre-season friendlies but it’s obvious we need re-enforcement’s though out.

Its obviously a pre season game. I thought we lacked a bit of strength across the park. Hopefully that will improve with games. Likewise a bit sluggish but a bit expected with returning from Bulgaria. I think we will need 4 or 5 players in the door if JCM goes. A couple of central defenders, a goalkeeper, and a couple in midfield. The younger players need an opportunity to develop so I can see a few going out on loan again. A Tod looked sharp enough.

maybe Benedictus got a knock in the second half on Thursday, the need for at least 2 centre halves was there already but add another now with Abdulai`s injury.

Corbally has played 3 positions in the 2 games so the versatility is handy but time will tell what his best position will be.

on the squad numbers, the numbers today were because of the strips but there are some changes, Morrison to 7, John Tod to 3, Abdulai to 6. Fraser is still 47 going by the training/warm up pics.

I thought we were quite good in the first half. Maybe Nuri going off injured affected the game but we certainly didn’t play as well after that point. Obviously the 2nd half brought a lot of changes and I don’t think the team was as balanced. We still managed to hang on and created some good chances though and get the win. So ultimately a good victory and confidence builder for the player’s.

Hard to say much after games like these given who we are playing.

We’ve fallen for this looking good in preseason against league 2 teams in the past then struggled.

Really need some reinforcements though, apart from perhaps bray, morrison and cooper then rest would benefit from going out on loan.
