Sounds like good business for us. Looks like he can play LCB or LWB as well, so a bit of cover for Fraser too. 60+ appearances in League 1 in England and 30+ appearances for St Johnstone in the Premiership.

And from COWS -
Dunfermline Athletic are delighted to announce the signing of left-sided defender Luke Robinson on a two-year contract, subject to Scottish FA clearances.
The 24-year-old joins the Pars following the expiry of his contract with English League One side Wigan Athletic, where he progressed through the club’s academy before making his senior debut in 2020. During his time with the Latics, Robinson gained valuable first-team experience, making over 50 appearances and helping the club secure the League One status in the 2021–22 season.
Born in Birkenhead, Robinson represented Scotland at Under-18 and Under-19 level and is capable of playing both at left-back and on the left side of central defence.
To further his development, Robinson enjoyed loan spells with Tranmere Rovers before moving north of the border with St Johnstone. Across two spells in Perth, he made more than 30 Scottish Premiership appearances, gaining valuable experience of Scottish football and establishing himself as a dependable defensive option.
Everyone at Dunfermline Athletic extends a warm welcome to Luke and wishes him every success during his time at KDM Group East End Park.

You have to wonder about the disparity in wages between the Pars and Wigan if we managed to persuade him to come up here. How does that square with JCM signing on down there? Do signing-on fees maybe come into it?

Signing on fee and in Mullens case closer to his family. I’ll maybe get myself up to Wigan for a few games this season, keep folk appraised of his/their progress.

..................................
He came up through Wigans Youth ranks - so likely got progressive rises that wouldn`t match players brought in from other clubs.

He`s 24 and has been under contract for 6 years. Surely they can`t discriminate against academy players indefinitely? I`m just surprised that we can attract a player used to EL1 wages.

He only started one league game for Wigan since the turn of the year and was released at the end of the season. He might have been used to League 1 money, but it is likely that it wasn`t available to him anymore.
