Anyone heard anything new re plans to stream Tuesday’s game vs Dumbarton?

The last club update stated “ We`ll be running soft-launch broadcasts for our Premier Sports Cup matches against Dumbarton and Cove Rangers as we continue testing and refining the service ahead of the new league campaign.”

I don’t know what a soft-launch constitutes in this scenario. Does that mean they will do a private test stream ie not for us on the new platform?

The DAFC Live page for live streams still stating no scheduled streams and the whole issue of cost, payment options (ppl / subs etc) not discussed anywhere I’ve found.

My guess is they will do a free / cheap stream, but won`t announce details until closer to kickoff so folk arent put off attending the game

Supporters info post on club website says it will be streamed and gives link for purchase but that takes you to the streaming page that still says there are no scheduled streams.

So seems it will definitely be streamed but will be a last minute thing.

Still waiting on subscription options and pricing info. I assume it will be more expensive than the old ParsTV monthly subscription price but that was incredibly good value if the guys got the away games up as well.

That brings me great sadness. Do we know if the commentary team will be the same?
And do we know if VPNs will still work for watching it 😅

Apparently Steven mill with guests. Anything has to be better than the previous offering.

There is a relevant post on Facebook:
Supporters unable to be at KDM Group East End Park tonight can purchase the live stream. Steven Mill will be live at 7.30pm ahead of our first competitive home match of the season.

The link takes you to a monthly subscription rather than a payment for tonight´s match only.

Yup, if click Passes under Subscriptions, you get to the 5 quid option for tonight´s game only.

I went ahead with the monthly subscription, but unclear if this is for July or August.

Have to say, ive used pars tv a lot last year and whilst I am very grateful for the boys and the service they gave us, after 1 half, its night and day. The quality is so much better and will obviously get better re the lag on replays, commentary is 1 million percent better too. Well done getting this off the ground and running well on first go.

There`s a sizeable delay between real time and the "live" pictures.
Do they have to broadcast with a delay ?

Yes. I was quite happy with the live stream, but the club needs to address the glitch that overseas fans experienced after paying the monthly subscription and not getting the live service unless they paid the additional fiver fee.

Agree Oz. They also need to sort out a support option so issues like we faced can get sorted out. It was a great stream and also enjoyed the commentary. We could have scored 7 or 8 tonight but credit to their keeper. Josh Cooper made a difference and unlucky not to get more than one. Good result for us with Cove winning too.

For future reference. The monthly fee starts when the league starts. Cup games are a one-off payment.
I was at the game but read this info subsequently on Facebook.

Yes. You’ll still get your monthly sub and yes, it probably wasn’t communicated good enough.

No Jake - it was not obvious. The DAFClive link took us through to an international monthly pass option which appeared as an option along with link where people could click to pay for a single game pass. As expats we are used to paying for a season ticket (or some who were travelling a monthly pass) and we will obviously be looking for the longer term option. If the game pass was to be the only option why provide us with a monthly subscription option and take people’s money only for it not to work?. I suspect the subscription problem for us expats was just a software glitch in what is a new service. They need to add a proper support link that works too. Still it is early days and there usually will be teething problems. On the positive side the feed and commentary were good and we were able to watch from start and so didn’t end up missing any of the game.

Thought the new setup was excellent last night as far as a pilot goes. Picture quality was good, audio and commentary with Steven Mill was great and will be helped once he has guests as well.

Like other overseas Pars fans, I had mistakenly thought the monthly subscription would have covered last night`s game, and I then had to pay for the five quid pass. But I now understand that the monthly pass is for leagues games, and that cup games require a separate pass.

The club pump out a lot of stuff on Facebook (e.g. short clips of goals taken from behind the goals). As a social media platform, Facebook has improved enormously over the years. You can follow stuff you are interested in more easily with advertising off to one side. Where I am, many organizations pump out useful information (including the local police and the local municipality.) The login is a little annoying as reCAPTCHA is used to prevent non-human actors accessing the platform.

The info about the monthly subscription on Facebook was given after someone asked in a comment on a post. DAFCLive acknowledged it would be confusing and said they`d remove the option until nearer the start of the league.

So it was just an oversight and there was no advance information given through Facebook that people missed out on.

Still why not just say on COWS DAFCLive site that international recurring monthly subscriptions will be available later but for league cup individual game passes will be required and only have individual game passes available as purchase options? This would have clarified things. Surely DAFCLive on COWS and not just FB should have this information. After they not offering a season ticket option? Still main thing is that feed and commentary was good last night.

I can see what you mean, Rhino. I found it quite clunky with the highlights, goals only and interviews. Are highlights only available to subscribers? It says to register to view.

Was the stream more stable than ParsTV? Everything seems the same quality to me when watching the goals and interviews. Is this just a rebrand?

They didn`t realise the issue ahead of the game, only when it was raised on Facebook. In response they said they`d remove the option until later. They could have left it with a message but it seems clearer just to remove it for now. I`ve not checked what they`ve done, they may have done something else now.

The main point was that it`s not the case that they are using Facebook to formally publish this information. It was only a reply to a comment on a Facebook post.

Yes, the subscription option should have made it clear what it was for, but they didn`t realise ahead of time.
