Aye, be good to see Hammy back at EEP- if he is fit?
Will be competitive I think, Ross Co. Last season were about as bad a team as any to watch, but I think they will have confidence this season.

What fantastic experience these guys are getting with last season`s Scottish Cup run and now overcoming a dreadful start in the League Cup by beating a Premiership club away from home and getting another home tie. It must give them bags of confidence and belief.

What was the most encouraging thing for me - the application and committment to win the game and keep going to the end. I thought St Mirren expended alot of energy 1st half and tired in the 2nd half, particularly towards the end. They stoped us playing 1st half, but I thought we managed the game well. We had the best chances overall so deserved to win.

The Championship has to be our immediate focus - third Saturday into the regular league season and it`s scheduled for a lesser competition.
Why not a midweek match to keep Saturdays as priority ?

It was important to get through to maintain any momentum we have at the start of the season, would’ve been a bounce game otherwise.

Premier Sports maybe insist on the first knock-out round being played at a weekend.

The round can`t be scheduled for midweek at this stage of the season as 5 out of the 8 games involve clubs who need to keep midweek clear for European games

How does a second round knockout match become a bounce game with a 1/4 place up for grabs ?

Sorry I meant had we not won, we would’ve had a free weekend shortly after starting the season meaning we would’ve probably organised a bounce game so playing a competitive match in the cup is obviously more beneficial.

My point exactly - the third Saturday into the league campaign should not be diverted towards a different competition, win or lose in the qualifying round.

Veteran what would be the fix to that then because as stated above you can’t play it midweek since teams play in Europe

Also if you check last season when we had a free week to “focus on the championship” we came back after drawing with livi in a bounce game to getting beat off raith in the league
