He’ll be doing alright if he gets a move down south after missing pretty much all of last season.
I was half expecting him to turn up at Morton or something.

All the best, Ewan. You showed enough when you joined the Pars to suggest you`re a good player, but injuries and perhaps a subsequent loss of confidence meant it didn`t work out for you at EEP.
I hope Rotherham gives you a chance to kick-start your career and you grab it with both hands.
Not your average Sunday League player.

Will be interesting what position they play him across the trial!
Assume he’ll be selling self in his favoured position but what is that?
The post below replying to me is by one of .nets finest champions of mediocrity!

Left back would be his best position. Has a great engine and can get up and down the park.
Good luck to him.

I was never convinced he was a left back or left wing back, Raymie. IMO he was not skillful enough or adventurous enough going forward, and when he did get into good position, his crossing/passing into the box was usually poor. However, I always felt he could do a decent job at left centre back, but never really got the chance because Ngwenya and John Tod were generally good in that position

Agreed.
I expected him to do what Ngwenya did second half of the season.

Pretty small for a centre back and heading was certainly a weakness

Disagree. Small for a traditional 4-4-2 but with 3 central defenders, he had all the attributes.

I have to admit, I never thought he looked any better than average in any position.

He is 6ft tall and 12 stone, not a monster but big and strong enough for centre back. I`ve got to admit I liked him, probably a victim of his own versatility. I hoped Lennon would have been able to pick a settled position for him and help him kick on, like he did with Ngwenya

I must say, he never looked 6 foot tall. Genuinely surprised at that.

Latterly he didn`t impress but before that some teams from south of the border were seriously considering paying good money for him, so some of the comments are very unfair. All the best Ewan and please don`t read this thread because you were a lot better than some suggest.

For me he was best at number 6. Maybe just tried to overplay and do things outwith his limitation but if he focused on winning it back and feeding it forward he would have been undroppable.
C'mon Ye Pars!

Agree people are being harsh on Otoo. He did absolutely fine for us in the championship in what was really a number of poor teams (and a couple of managers) where he was one of the better players. He was plugged into several different positions which didn`t help his development either.
It just didn`t quite work out in the end with the injury and Lennon I think wanting to overhaul most of the existing squad that needed broken up too. Thanks Ewan and hope you go on to find a good club and have a strong career.

Ewan didn`t benefit from the poor performances we put in a couple of seasons ago. He was moved around into different positions that did not help him. He also scored a couple of important goals for us so he has goals in him. A fresh start will hopefully do him the world of good. I wish him the best of luck.

I also really liked Otoo, surprised at some of the comments on this thread. All about opinions, I guess.

I think Otoo was probably our best player at one point in McPake’s last full season, when he was playing in central midfield. I thought at that point he’d move down south and we’d get some money for him.
The following season he struggled more for form in a poor side, then under Lennon it just didn’t happen for him. Like a few have said on here, I think that Ngwenya went on to have the season at LCB that we might have expected from Otoo.
I think he has the physicality to play in the English leagues. I’m sure he’ll get a club at a level not too dissimilar to one we are at.

Agree with all of this and thought he was a good player for us when we needed him. I felt he lacked a bit of creativity in midfield that would take him up a level though.

I hope it works out for him: we had high hopes when he came but he seemed to lose his way a bit.
Perhaps he suffered from his versatility – a jack of all trades without being a master of any. DM? LCB? LWB? LB? I’m not sure what his best position was. I’m not sure anyone did.
A useful player to have in a club with a small squad that’s grovelling for points. Less valuable when your ambition calls for more specialism and you are trying to win every week. Strong and fit, but he seemed to lack a little finesse.
He may do better in England where athleticism seems to be favoured over skill. I wonder if we don’t show enough patience with players who are off-form for a bit, although Ngwenya and Matty Todd came back from the dead to a certain extent. maybe he had plenty chances, I don’t know. The lack of proper reserve team football doesn’t help.
