I feel a lot of us supporters don’t realise our club is being used as a AI recruiting players.
We were told this when being bought over and this is what happens..a good player comes through where say 4 are average and rank!
Let’s face it Lennon is one of the best paid managers in Scotland and has to abide with this AI of recruitment procedure..he has to get the best out of these players.
Why would we sign/loan an 18 year old as he will never get a game or feature in the 1st team?
Bene is in a youth coaching role and I think he will do well.. Hammy away to County but these guys were the mouthpiece of the team..

I thought it was only correct to give Google Gemini the right to respond o behalf of all AI tools......here`s what it said.....
It is completely understandable to feel frustrated when fan favorites depart and young, unproven loan signings take their place—especially when veteran "mouthpieces" of the dressing room move on. However, blaming "AI recruitment" mischaracterizes how modern data analytics works in football and overlooks why clubs adopt these models.
The Reality of Data-Driven Recruitment
Data-driven scouting is not an automated program making blind signings; it is an objective tool designed to level the playing field against richer clubs.
Ferreting Out Hidden Value: AI and advanced analytics don`t replace human scouting—they scan thousands of leagues globally to identify undervalued talent that traditional scouting networks would completely miss.
The "Hit Rate" Myth: Traditional scouting has always suffered from a high failure rate. Expecting every single signing to be a hit is unrealistic under any recruitment model. If a system produces one genuinely standout player for every few average ones, it creates immense sporting and financial value for the club.
Smart Financial Sustainability: Relying exclusively on high-wage, established veterans leads to financial stagnation. Mixing data-backed young talent with experienced core players builds long-term squad value.

Why Sign 18-Year-Old Loans?
In Premier Sports Cup group stages, congested fixture lists, or late-game chasing situations, depth is essential. Signing an 18-year-old on loan provides top-tier talent on minimal wages. If they break into the first team, the club gains a high-quality player; if they don`t, the financial risk remains almost non-existent.
Managerial Integration
A well-paid, experienced manager like Neil Lennon isn`t rendered powerless by analytics. Modern managers actively use performance data to refine tactical setups, track player workload, and extract maximum potential from raw talent. The data brings the player to the building; the manager and his coaching staff turn them into a footballer.
While losing senior leaders creates a temporary vocal void in the squad, modern football requires a balance of culture, coaching, and analytical precision to stay competitive.
What specific profile or position do you feel the squad is currently lacking most?

As Lennon has said, many factors go into our signings. Some are recommended by the owners database, others come through his contacts or that of John Coloqhoun and the scouting department, but ultimately Lennon says yes or no to every player that’s put to him.

I think tss also important to remember the application of AI is in the management and coaching as well as recruitment. My understanding is that, in addition to identifying promising young players, it can be used for a variety of other things during games including real time mapping of spatial coverage on the pitch to identify gaps and player behaviours, provide real time tactical simulations, predict player fatigue, provide half time data and visual overlays, check player mechanical loading etc. In training it can be used for dynamic training adjustment requirements, predict injuries etc.
The software is no doubt being developed so perhaps for James Bord is looking at it as a high risk tech startup, where the club is effectively a sandbox for the software, with a view to developing it and its commercial application in football With an experienced manager, you are going to get good user feedback and real world assessments to help with fine tuning and improvement. Its a bit of a win win.
I use AI myself for analysis to compliment my own judgement at work. Its not perfect, but it can perform analysus, identify issues and make recommendations etc that I would not necessarily see. Its a tool to augment and improve human decision making, so it would be interesting to know the role it is playing in training, player development, team selection, team formation, real time tactical decisions and substitutions.
Its not infallible, and "hallucinates", but with an iterative development process of questioning output and suggesting improvements it can be very useful indeed.
