He`s the highest profile manager we`ve had since Jock Stein, he could get a higher profile job than the Pars.

I’ve been on this forum for about 24 years now and this might be the worst thread of all time. There seems to be a wee handful of posters that have a thing about Irish catholic Neill Lennon but I just can’t put my finger on what that might be???? The second most successful manager in Scotland right now and some absolute moon howler thinks he’s a fraud. Shameful.

We all know he`s a Celtic fan and he was doing tv punditry before he came to us.
The owners are obviously happy with the arrangement (inc him potentially missing some training sessions if indeed he does) or they wouldn`t have signed him / given him a new contract.
He`s said on many occasions that he loves it here so I don`t think he`s a charlatan tbh.
Who wants to watch Celtic games anyway - no thanks!!
Also - there was very little post match coverage last night. A quick chat with Ox & Josh so maybe the BBC are more to blame than Lenny for no intervew 🤔

I love the fact that it’s been proven he wasn’t in Austria by Amazon themselves when they said let’s go back to the studio in London to hear from Neil Lennon and still somehow that isn’t the most wrong thing about this point is laughable
Also Bertie so to know he ‘was there’ you must have been watching the game too so does that mean your a bigger Celtic fan than Dunfermline fan why aren’t you ever taking training for the team
The reason there wasn’t a post match up is because it takes time to make and I am sure the people that run Dunfermline live are supporters so would rather be out celebrating than uploading a wee post match interview just to keep you happy

Lennon was there last night, if not he has a double sitting in managers seat.
I never liked him as a player, but as a manager he has changed, good man management, good football skills, with enough of a profile to attract quality.

What a weird thing to be discussing the morning after a win in the Fife derby. If NL was absent from training at any time during the week it didn`t seem to affect performance and we all remember the severe blip we had last season when he had a prolonged absence after his father died.

So you just made up his location so that you could get more angry about the situation? He could have been on a flight at 6, into Edinburgh by 7 and comfortably at training in time.
He was also reported to have said `we won the double last season, which turned out to be untrue. That must have disappointed you.

Think Lennon has done an okay job at the moment. In some senses he’s a lucky manager as he’s joined us due to some pretty decent backing that other managers we’ve had over the years just haven’t had.
The record in the transfer market is a bit hit or miss, whether those are Lenny’s signings or not I don’t know. I tend to think the left field signings are not Lennon ie Allan, Adam’s etc and the likes of Morrison, shaw and the NI ones he’ll maybe have had a hand in.
If he can just find a way or the personnel to give us some quality on the wings we could really be going places.

Although I just think the OP is just a massive bigot of the kind we sadly produce in Scotland.
On the tv work I would not be surprised if that was part of his agreement to take the job. He was coming off of failure but I would still have thought he could have got a bigger gig than us so allowing augmenting his income with tv work seems a reasonable deal to make.

I don`t think NL doing TV work has any bearing on the team performances. Its good that he does as it attracts attention to the club. In a wider context it also allows him to form relationships with others in the game that can benefit the club in other ways. The proof is in the pudding for me- are we a better team since he became manager - yes, are we the finished article - no, but thats how it goes at this stage in the development. Whats encouraging from last night is how we are maturing in terms of application, game management and aggression/physicality. Still a way to go, and we are a bit too easily caught out at times at times by giving the ball away in midfield areas but hopefully we can build on improving that.

I’m gonna be honest. There’s lots to love about Lennon.
He’s ruthless about players that fans love and not afraid to leave out if they need to kick on or move out.
He got the best last season out of Matty Todd after he was seemingly out the door.
Chris Hamilton was clearly not getting a new contract but a player sorely missed in the squad.
Lennon isn’t responsible for most signings but is responsible for managing them and he’s got that prestige and respect from everyone right now.
His loyalty to Morrison is baffling but we all have our favourites if you were a coach.

They said on the coverage about his flight home tomorrow. Thought that must`ve meant he was in Austria. Means he was in London and still having to get a flight home next day. Massive distraction still.
On the post match stuff we used to have interviews up an hour after the game. The new improved website is garbage. Hard to navigate and updates were better with volunteers.
Also incorrect. They said to Stan Petrov about his flight home thw next day, and then then mention Lennon was flying home that night.
Lennon and Petrov were in a studio in London .
Yep and Lennon was flying back to Scotland that evening. Petrov was travelling home the next day to wherever he lives.

I think Lennon, in all fairness to the players, gives them time to play out their slump if struggling a bit.
But Morrison does need to get out of it quickly or he`ll be out the picture.
Got to agree with the Falkirk fans so far regarding him. Not really convinced he`s got it at this level

He was in Austria.... Flew out day of the match and by law you can`t fly back on the same day from Austria. He flew back Thursday morning. Disgrace missing all that training. The guy is taking the mik.n On a massive wage and other folk running the team.
Mark Wilson and Glenn Whelan meantime concentrating on their team. No gushing over their real first love.
Will that be red card now?
Narrator: It was indeed a Red Card

Pretty much every interview with the players I have heard talks about NL and his team and the fact that they are enjoying being at the club and its a good group of boys. Also tge fact tgat he believes in young players and will give them opportunities. On the other thread I sensed a bit of frustration from Josh Cooper about not getting enough starts (readong between the lines), but that competition should spur him on. He has improved as a player and has game intelligence asother have said.the acid test for me is not what other jobs NL has outside of the Pars, but what job he does for the Pars. From where I am sitting that a pretty good one.
There will be players who don`t want to play under him or feel that opportunities exist elsewhere, so the rub for me is that NL and his team are the ones who gave them that opportunity to make the step up.

The same Mark Wilson who was doing live updates for Sky Sports News?

If I was a pars player and watching my gaffer on tv criticising teams for effort etc then I would make sure I was giving everything in training/games for him.

He’s allowed because he’s not Neil Lennon obviously.
