4 games in 11 days will mean squad rotation.
As the Swiss are the top team in our group and will surely be our biggest test I can’t see SP making too many changes for this game.
Maybe one change in central defence ?
Maybe Hickey swapped out for Patterson ?
Maybe one change up top?
Think Gunn, Two CH’s, probably Hendry and Welsh, Robertson, Ferguson, McGinn and Gilmour and McBurnie are all certain starters. assuming he goes with the same shape/formation..
What an opportunity we missed in 2014.

Didn’t think he was too bad. I remember him getting a timely block in preventing a tap in for a goal first half.

From the `Scotland squad` thread two weeks ago -
`I must admit I had to `google` Luis Binks. He`s had a nomadic career - born Gillingham, Spurs Academy, Montreal, Bologna, Coma, Coventry, Brondby. He qualifies via a Scottish grandad.`

I can understand why he has kept two of our more experienced CH’s in the starting line up. He has to give the new lads opportunities too. Welsh against Slovenia and Binks tonight.
Upfront Ure starting against Slovenia and Bowie tonight.
Had a suspicion that Patterson would start.
Quite a “ safe” line up. Not much pace there either.
What an opportunity we missed in 2014.

That was a clear foul in the end. But footballers don’t half wind me up. He was clean through on goal and deliberately slowed down to wait for the challenge rather than just scoring.
Braindead behaviour from Hendry all the same pulling him back.

Dearie me. What a dreadful start.
Hendry no chance of getting the ball or away with the foul. I guess it’s a spur of the moment brain fart type thing as it is utterly pointless, especially after only 10 minutes when there’s loads of time to get a goal back with a full team.
Freekick was Gunn’s side as well. Not fantastic from him just getting done for pace of shot.

The boy slowed down and waited for contact to be fair. Says a lot about what kind of player he is, rather than attempting to score a goal.

I think the ball actually slows up to be fair to him. Hendry just couldn`t have got it any more wrong .
Genuinely think Gunn would be second choice goalkeeper at the Pars. There must be someone better

Hendry had a brain fart against Brazil and again tonight.
I would bin him if I was the manager….but I am not ….lol
The irony is that if it was a pen then Hendry may have stayed on and they might have missed the pen …
Never been a fan of playing three lumbering giants in central defence. Like to see someone in there who is quicker over 10-15 yards.
Should we continue with three CH’s now ? Get someone else in midfield.
Think McGinn has been poor.
I would hook him and McKenna and get Doak and an other on.
Difficult to get anything from this game now.
Need to come second…at worst…in the group which will mean winning 3 of our next four probably.
What an opportunity we missed in 2014.

Exactly what I was thinking. Hendry caught too tight and it`s a foul but Ndoye has really made it happen. Frustrating one to lose.
I was disappointed Welsh was dropped.
McBurnie has been brilliant so far.

Its academic now, but it really annoys me the defenders do that when there is still a goalkeeper there. I once read 60-70%of 1 on 1s end in a miss. That feels too high bit its certainly a significant amount.

Hendry has to be punted.
I got some stick in pub for suggesting he was sh*t against Slovenia but I think I was correct.
Lackadaisical is about the only phrase I can use for his demeanor.
That was a Sunday league challenge and it has definitely cost us any chance of getting a result in the game

Maybe a relegation to Group 3 will give us a chance to rebuild an aging squad and give these guys time to grow into international football……
Would class Gunn as culpable for 2 goals, but also helped keep score down too 🤦🏻♂️

Unfortunately, all our CBs over the last few years (decades?) are guaranteed a major brain fart at least 1 in 3 matches, most consistent least bad performer is probably McKenna... So we need to score, and we don`t look like doing that either...

There`s a reason why I made a point of not saying better, but least bad. Seeing McKennas name on the team sheet still gives me the fear, but overall considering who else we have had playing there, that`s all I was saying. Hopefully Welsh and Binks come good, but looks to be more of the same

Yip. No shame in losing to a very good Swiss side with 11 men never mind 10, but teams with 10 men can sometimes still give it a right go. Surprised SP persisted with the 3 CH’s, our wing backs were pinned back and the 3 in midfield over ran.
It was an abject performance second half.
We have a team that looks so one paced…
It will be interesting to see what team starts against NM. Gilmour, McGinn, Ferguson and Robertson will be toiling to play 3 games in a week.
Hope we go with 4 at the back. Binks and Welsh can’t be any worse than McKenna and Hendry. Doig and Hickey back in.
We have to give some new guys a game at some point so let’s see what Lennon Miller and McPake can do.
What an opportunity we missed in 2014.

When we went 2-0 down I think Poco brought off Gilmour and McBurnie to save them for the weekend as he knew it was done. Probably a sensible move but meant we had half an hour of absolute dross.
We really need a win at the weekend. It would be good to get Josh McPake and Gannon-Doak in on either side. McGinn was poor and played the whole game so maybe he`ll sit the upcoming one out.

I think Ndoye knew he was in front of the defender and that particular problem was already solved and he was now checking his run in the hope of the goalkeeper committing and that was his next focus….let’s face it Gunns not striking fear into the heart of anyone in Switzerlands front line. That’s some proper 4D chess if he’s thinking instead I will focus on getting fouled outside the box by someone who is behind me so they are down to 10 men but I will need to see it again.

Red card killed the game. The free kick was probably worse overall than the penalty.
McBurnie tried hard to get us up the park, but when he had three players around him, it was always going to be a hard task.
As I said after the World Cup, a reality check is needed. We just aren`t good enough against this kind of opposition, and the game in Skopje is a massive one now.
We have no pace in the squad and have to force square pegs into round holes just to get Doak into this system.
This is Andy Tod`s world and we are lucky to live in it.
