With Cheltenham fast approaching, anyone got any horses they are backing?
I got a Sky Bet enhanced odds on Altior (QM Champion Chase) and Native River (Gold Cup) double at 15's.

I noticed quite a few bookies are doing 'money back as a free bet' promotions on some races (Sky Bet for first race every day), Betway (first and last) so will probably have a dabble on them once the runners become a bit clearer.

Tip I got.No guarantees.

When I worked in the bookmaking industry, I was always very interested in the very early money the firm would receive ahead of big handicaps....

It often turned out to be some of the shrewdest money on the block – the bookie I worked for certainly saw that money as a good steer and I enjoyed a few nice touches following such money in....

The entries haven’t been out long for the handicaps. Nor the markets. But there have been some interesting market moves....

Coo Star Sivola has seen money for the Ultima...
Le Breuil has seen money for the Coral Cup....
King’s Socks has been backed for the Brown Plate....
Oistrakh Le Noil has been supported for the Fred Winter....

Old habits die hard. I’ve combined them in a £1 Lucky 15 – a £15 stake to win just over £50,000.

Not sure if it's a bookie moving cash about but someone has just put 25k on Summerville Boy at 10.0 in the opener on Betfair exchange.

Also had Get a bird, footpad, buveur dair and apples jade as the short faves 4 timer but that was goosed at the first.

Did you reinvest any in it straight?

Let it run and up £200 thanks to mixing it in with a Coco line, cheers Raymie!

Quite happy with this as the rest of the week could be carnage once the weather kicks in (although if Rotherham hadn't snookered three coupons on Saturday I'd have laid a fair bit more!)...

Struggling a bit today. Not sure what I fancy doing yet but looking at something from the following:

13.30 Next Destination. Think the fave will win but an EW shout in some small stakes acca
14.10 Black Corton. Again it might not beat the fave but looking at a place in an acca.
14.50 Mount Mews or Le Breuil. Again Not too cofident.
15.30 Altior or Min. Probably plump for Altior but the fitness scare is still a worry.
16.10 Cause of Cause, The Last Samuri or Josies Orders. Again stuck with this one.

Possibly pair Solo Saxophone and Carefully selected in a small ew double in the last two. Not too confident overall today.

Keep er lit Raymie. Rhinestone was pretty pathetic, but a Lucky 15 there brought me on level for the day, before the first and last free bets.

Stuck on Acey Milan and Next Destination for the free bets and were was close most of the way. Well played Katie on the Bumper. Also only put a cheeky quid on the nose for Barra!

Not bad to come out unscathed, happy to rinse and repeat £50 over the next few days especially with these free bets.

You must have got worse prices than RTL dafc111-did you take SP's , guaranteed odds or did you take prices?

I saw it this morning and stuck it on aside from my own bets-a wee profit out of it-£22 on and £26 back

Yeah I generally use Bet365 too,and did for the above bet, although I also have a Betfair account.I like the site layout for Bet365-been good getting a free bet on the festival every day too.Sometimes find it hard to get an in-play bet on with Sky Bet as it constantly suspends when the price fluctuates.

Friday I've gone for the following

2.10 Flying Tiger 11/1 & A Hare Breath 14/1 both e/w 1/4 odds 6 places
2.50 Santini 9/2
3.30 Might Bite 7/2
4.50 Deal D'Estruval 9/1 e/w 1/4 odds 5 places
5.30 Doitforthevillage 33/1 e/w 1/4 odds 5 places

Did a small 10p e/w lucky 15 on some Elliott runners too for a small interest.

Interesting that they thought the ground was a bit too soft for him. The pair tanked round and if Might Bite goes for it next year on better ground it might be worth another look in spite of that stat about not winning if you've already had a crack at the GC that Native River just won against.

Ground has been a factor today. Johnson fined 6k for overuse of the whip on Native River not that he will care a jot.

2 winners @9/1 & 11/1 for Elliott and a non runner in my lucky 15 which wasn't too bad.
