 Brexit - if no deal?
Topic Originator: sabre74

What's everyones thoughts on this. A bit scaremongering today from the UK boss of Amazon about
civil unrest within weeks if no deal is done. Others saying stockpiling of medicine and food. Hopefully it
wont come to that and something will be agreed. Will be tough in the beginning but if an agreement
is made and we have a transition period then all the better.

This is just my opinion....

There is zero chance of a no deal happening, when push finally comes to shove and it will, there’s not the numbers for it. When this becomes all to obvious and given the limited time left they will be left with no choice but to punt May as no withdrawal agreement, blame her for everything and pull article 50.

Then an election, tories bust as now no longer a hard brexit option so will loose the radicalised gammons back to thier old home in UKIP and labour will punt or force corbyn into staying in EU and will win on that ticket.

Shed load of time and money wasted.........all to try and subvert the process to get a treaty renegotiation with the eu.

Brexit would never have happened if Declan McManus could put the ball in the net

It's common knowledge that Lionel Messi kept a photo of Hamish French by his bedside as inspiration every morning!

Brexit is a bit like nat! Slow, cumbersome and will eventually be dropped never to be seen again!

That better?

do you not think they will extend article 50 instead of pulling it?

however, don't think May will be seen as capable or purposeful enough to see it through so there will be a tory leadership election in Sep/Oct and a new face will come through to drag us all out of the EU

still say, if the 73% want to stay in the EU (and nab that 80% service sector work up here) then bring on the indy2

Problem is you can't have part of the UK in the EU and part out without independence.

The SNP appear fairly inept at planning independence if the Growth Commission report is anything to go by. Torn apart by a "dog food salesman" (who is actually MD of 2 incredibly successful e-commerce firms who employ hundreds of people in Livingston).

If we truly want independence then we need to be honest and admit we'll be screwed for the first few years and look at contingency plans for supporting the banks and other companies who have chosen Scotland to base their operations.

I think there will probably be an emergency status quo in March next year and Brexit will be pushed back by another year or two.

Going to Europe and asking them "can we just continue with all the nice trade and financial services incentives but stop all this free movement nonsense?" isn't going to cut it with most member states. You can't have your cake and eat your neighbour's cake at the same time.

Pretending that no deal will hurt the EU as much as the UK makes me laugh.
People in the UK supermarkets will be upset because of the half-empty shelves or increased prices.
People in French supermarkets will be upset because instead of Scottish, Irish, or Norwegian smoked salmon they will only have the choice of Irish or Norwegian.
I know where I would rather be.

We can limit freedom of movement RIGHT NOW if we want.
