Strange that Scots MP's have no rights in England but an English MP has rights in Scotland.Double standards?

I thought it was the other way around. English mp's can't have a say on Scottish laws and regulations, such as income tax, but Scottish mp's can vote on how much income tax is paid in England.

And although my eyes were open
They just might as well be closed

This isn't about votes, it's the appointment of an English MP as a Minister in the Scottish Office when there were plenty of Scottish Tory MPs available for selection.

Yes that seems completely reasonable seeing as Scottish mp's have often held cabinet positions even though the power that they hold in those positions has no sway in Scotland due to devolution.

Are there any UK Cabinet positions which deal solely with English matters and, if so, has a non-English MP held any of these positions? I can't think of any off the top of my head.

Off the top of my head I can think of Alistair Darling who was Transport secretary for a number of years in the Blair government. Transport is a devolved matter.

I didn't realise Transport was fully devolved. The Dept of Transport has been a bit of a moveable feast over the years.

Transport is not fully devolved hence the problems with Network rail.
It is one of the most devolved areas though.
