 Austerity Hit the Poorest Hardest

This graph shows that the poorest 10% of the UK population has become 17% worse off since 2010 with the impact lessening, in both £s and in percentage terms, the better off folk are.

We were all in it together remember?

I dread to think what could happen if either Johnson or Swinson get another crack at milking the very poorest in society for what little pittance they have so that some "too big to fail" third generation billionaire can afford to buy his third favourite son a second superyacht so that he doesn't feel jealous of the fourth favourite's new jet.

There was a young lad training to be a bricklayer interviewed after doing a photo op with Corbyn. He said he wouldn't vote Corbyn and preferred Johnson because of where he "was from". The from wasn't a town but "money". He basically said he wouldn't vote Corbyn because mummy and daddy had money. So despite being one of the people who will be negatively affected by the Tory plans he wi still vote for them...

I has a 41 year old woman with mental health problems crying at me in a doorway today because she has been barred from the council's emergency accommodation office* because she kicked off after being turned away for emergency accommodation yet again.

This woman's "problem" is that she is extremely vulnerable and is therefore not suitable for typical council emergency accommodation because she would (and has) experience abuse from the other residents who "come from all walks of life"

You see this is the only kind of accommodation available (since 2010 everything else has been well outside the council's budget) so because she is so vulnerable, she is left crying in a doorway on the street, outside a free food service from which she is banned.

She is just one of many who I'm aware of.

Although this is only an issue in the first place as a result of another failed Tory flagship policy - Care in the Community.

For that you need two things which we were quite obviously missing as a nation: care and a community.

*this is just becoming a place where where you go to be experience a three hour wait followed by a 90 second meeting in a dingy room where you are refused emergency accommodation for increasingly outlandish reasons and sent back on to the streets.

The enemy travels by private jet, not by dinghy.
