Normally I'm against NHS outsourcing but if ever there was a clear case for using third parties it's utilising the expertise of the companies that own the technology stacks you're developing your app on and have actually already developed almost identical working solutions for other people. Bonkers.

The NHS out source loads of stuff. Especially related to technology. And so they should. They are there for health and should concentrate their expertise there. I wouldn't be happy to have them building technology solutions.

Normally don't like private sector contracts (the public sector pays again and again for the same poor solutions) but Google and Apple should surely look to develop a global solution rather than one that suits people in London?
