I can see that these cases smack of incompetence by the Crown Office but what exactly is the political angle to this?

Who do you think pays the Crown Office their wages ? Who are they accountable to?
Any idea how much the people of Scotland will pay out in taxes for the incompetence of this botch up along with the other botch ups including trying to to jail innocent people ?
I can assure you along with the human misery caused the cost will run to excess of £100 million.
Hopefully you understand the political angle now.

Yes but isn`t the Crown Office independent of government? I don`t see how it`s a political issue in itself. There`s a tendency nowadays to lay all shortcomings at the door of governments (not just in Scotland) that have nothing to do with political policies. For example, if an engineer doesn`t sign off a certificate of completion on a building properly or a doctor misdiagnoses or mis-treats a patient`s complaint.

With a bill in excess of £100 million in costs to Sevco along with the inquiry costs the bill will go beyond £105 million. All to be paid for by Joe public...
Ever feel you've been cheated Scotland 😕
