Culture Secretary Nadine Dorries has confirmed the BBC licence fee is to be frozen at £159 for two years.
Speaking in the House of Commons on Monday, Ms Dorries said the government could "not justify extra pressure on the wallets of hardworking households".
Following the two-year freeze, she said the fee will rise in line with inflation for the following four years

Meanwhile Wee Boab and Rita are wondering how they will manage this year due to the pension triple lock suspension and also to heat their home amid the rising gas costs

I don’t mind paying but the younger age groups are going to be the problem for the Beeb in future. They don’t watch or listen to it much, if at all, and are unlikely to change as they get older.
Will they resent paying for a service they don’t use?

She`s an idiot.
So people can`t afford a few quid extra for an enormous BBC service, but we can afford the ENORMOUS energy price rises?
This is a clear case of the Government attempting to control the state broadcaster.
And don`t start me on this national anthem bollocks. Can you imagine the outcry if the SNP said STV should play Flower of Scotland every morning? We can`t even teach Scottish history in this country without criticism 😂
