Apologies for the whitabootery here, but why isn`t there much focus on other politicians in Holyrood and Westminster? What about NHS England (or whatever it was called before it got reorganised) and Public Health Scotland?
Why so much interest in Nicola Sturgeon?
Putting everything to one side - it was a bit of a flying by the seat of your pants job across the UK and lessons should be learned. However, it was the first time in centuries we`ve had a public health emergency like this.

The purpose of these inquiries - to try to make sure mistakes that were made won`t be repeated in the event of future pandemics - is very noble but it was inevitable they would be used to `second guess` decisions that were made and highlight the personal and political comments and naturally it is those the media concentrate on.
The KC keeps asking if they will be able to trace the decision-making process in the absence of WhatsApp messages or other informal messaging. Hasn`t he and his staff tried to do this?

Jake, Forbes and Swinney were up yesterday.
Swinney was grilled about unminuted “Gold” cabinet meetings that
he attended.
Forbes was asked why she wasn’t there, in important role as Finance Secretary - she said she didn’t know about them at that time.
Sturgeon says Forbes office told about decisions made and Forbes could have attended if she wanted to!
PHS scientist was on earlier this week saying shutting schools was of little benefit and outdoor activities parks, beaches etc were needlessly restricted.
CMO at the start of the outbreak was Catherine Calderwood, who threw a sickie and didn’t appear despite being spotted running for a train at Waverley… Not much of a miss anyway as she got sacked for breaching her own travel rules, and according to evidence from the scientist wasn’t listening to early warnings anyway!

Schools is an odd one. They`re a breeding ground at the best of times! Just ask any parent.
