It’s not a political party any more, it’s a cult.

No because I don`t give money to political parties πŸ™‚

I`d love to know where all the money actually went. Can`t all have gone on mugs in the drawer.

Ha Ha πŸ‘

None of the 19k spent on pens πŸ–Š ever landed with me..I`ve got about 50 I pinched from the street stalls I did in Aberdour which I must say were actually great fun...but my pen`s are crappy yellow plastic saying "Vote Nicola for FM" and Both votes SNP.

Such happy days though giving the SNP Β£40 a month and convinced there was a secret plan to independence.

Still got some of the pens and never once did I think I was being cheated .

So, you yourself admit that you also stole from the SNP, 50 pens!

I`ve still got some around the house, and more in the motor and holiday homes, I`ll return them when I get my contribution back from the referendum fundraiser.

Hello, Police Scotland, get the tent out. Yes, it`s an address in Fife. πŸ˜‚

Β£40 a month, Tenruh?! That explains your dislike of the SNP. My understanding is Murrell offered to pay it all back and has the means to so I hope there is some form of compensation.

I actually feel sorry for all the members who didn`t understand what was going on within the party. When you read the attached article you can see how the Murrells totally controlled everything.
I have no dislike to the party members but I certainly have towards the clique running the party and all the wage takers.

The main reason I left the party was the actions towards A.S. especially when it dawned on me that I may have contributed to the spurious behaviour towards him through my donations.

I see various SNP officials and councillors have written to the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland complaining that Johnston Carmichael, the auditors of the SNP accounts during the years of embezzlement, never reported any untoward behaviour or transactions to management or brought any weaknesses in control to their attention.

I`ve been saying for ages that enquiries should have been made about the conduct of their audits. It will be interesting to see what the response is.

I think the Police started their investigation in July 2021

Johnson Carmichael signed the 2021 accounts on 30 June 2022. Was that the deadline? I guess it`s normal for accounts to be signed at the last moment and we should not interpret this as evidence of anything untoward being discovered. The 2021 included the MoHo purchase.

But JC then quit. Why? And AMS Accountants Group (who??) took over.

It certainly looks like JC dropped the ball.

Perhaps they assumed that because they had decided Murrell wasn`t a crook the previous year then he probably wasn`t one this year. And so on. Then they got suspicious.

But who would they support their suspicions to, assuming they had any? The Chief Executive? I guess this can happen a lot - you can`t report your doubts to the management because they are the ones doing the embezzling.

Perhaps JC thought that there was something dodgy going on(maybe even well dodgy) warned Murrell to get it sorted then when he didn`t, quit (before their reputation was totally trashed). We don`t know what was in the audit report provided to management, only the bland "nothing to see here" public statement.

Maybe they reported to the police and we don`t know about it. Maybe they worked their notice.

I don`t move in accountancy circles, but I wonder if there were rumours swirling round the New Club (or wherever they hang out). But certainly there are huge question marks over JC`s seeming inaction. Not good for business.

In fairness Eck, you have been saying that. Just about every interaction I’ve seen on here about that - you’ve raised the question.

It’s hard not to think the whole thing stinks of corruption and the whole story of it was just him and nobody else knew about it… πŸ’©
