Unsure if this is a site issue or the app but you can't use the search to see posts by an author.

On the search screen, make sure you select "Originator" and deselect Subject and Body. Also, if you tap on the user's name on a post they created, you can then tap "search posts" on the popup - that takes you to a pre-populated search screen - you just need to hit Search.

Ah, just noticed in the latter scenario above, the username is surrounded by quotes - they need to be removed before you hit Search. Something to fix in the next update!
