I can use all the different forums using my mobile phone and the app.
However, when I use my laptop I get the message:
"Bad Request
Your browser Sent a request that this server could not understand. Size of a request header field exceeds server limit."
This has just happened today, after changing my password for the site. Any suggestions on clearing the problem?

From memory, I think this could be a cookie value building up - try clearing out those (or just blow your whole browser cache).

There will be a “history” entry somewhere. Though if you’re on your phone, there is always the app :)

These messages have returned on both my laptop and my phone in the last week or so. You can fix it temporarily by `Clearing your Browsing History` but I think Admin has to do something to fix it more permanently.

Agreed!
I`ve had a week or so where things were ok, but now once again the "Bad Request" message has returned.
I can work around it by using a different browser, but a permanent solution is needed.
Admin???

There`s a previous thread on it called `Bad Error Message` which suggests the last problem was in December. Brian got involved and managed to fix it with some help from Milos Drizzle.

I`ve had an idea. I wonder if there are now too many messages in the football forum and I may need to prune.
I`ll think about this before doing the prune.
are you able to view the other forums ok (maybe clear cache again first)

I suspect it is something like that. Or add code that prunes the oldest values in the cookie to prevent it growing to popping point.

Fortunately I discovered that I could clear the cookies from a single site, rather than deleting the entire browser history and cookies.
So like wee eck I have managed to resolve the problem for the moment by clearing the cookies off the dafc.info site.
Will the problem return? We`ll see.

hopefully that will resolve. (but note, older messages from 2022 have now gone)
also please use https://dafc.net/forum

what device are you using ?
just checking to see what else could be causing it. I made some settings change the other day, which I thought would help
RMGpar, where are other people saying there is a problem ? they need to contact us even by email to say what issues they have. I obviously have not seen any other requests that there is an issue

it`s all very strange why happening on all these devices,
proving very elusive to track down
I`ve found an item in the system log which I`ll look into further to see if that is causing the issue.

Happening yet again - have tried both Samsung Internet and Chrome on the phone, Chrome on the laptop and Chrome and Edge on the work PC; have cleared history and cache; have used incognito mode - nothing works.
Seems to load a thread ok but posting or returning to the top of the board just crashes it. Assume this message will fail too but giving it a go.
