It looks like since upgrading to Android 16 the swipe back feature no longer works in the app. Instead of going back it now closes the app meaning you need to use the back arrow in the app instead. Not a big issue but thought worth flagging it in case it was useful to know.

Cheers for the head’s up. Will take a look over the next few days. I updated the app a few days ago when I noticed there was going to be an issue with the new edge-to-edge stuff in Android, but didn’t notice the swiping issue. Hopefully it won’t be a tricky issue to solve.

Jake, which version of the app do you have?

Just trying it out on the simulator, and it looks like there’s quite a generous zone on the left-hand side of the screen that will close the app if you start swiping from there. If you start the swipe nearer the centre of the screen it shouldn’t activate the close app gesture. Can you confirm? (I don’t have a physical Android device to test). I’ll see if there’s a way to stop that gesture, or at least reduce the size of the area that activates it.

Reading the documentation, it doesn`t look like it`s even possible to suppress that gesture, as it is system-wide (not app-specific), and users will expect that "standard behaviour". It`s something you`ll need to get used to... When swiping back in the .net app, just start your finger a bit further in from the left-hand-side (experiment to see where the zone is on your device, and commit it to muscle memory!).

5.9.1 (Build 156). Sorry for the late reply. I got an error when posting this morning and didn`t notice it actually went through (twice!)

And you are right! Just need to swipe in the middle instead. Thanks for looking into this.

It’s annoying that I can’t override it, but understand Google’s desire to force consistency of experience across apps.
